Today I join again to the vegan initiative brought by our friend @sirenahippie.

I confess that melon is not exactly one of my favorite fruits, when I was a child my mother bought it and almost always made juices with it and that way I consumed it because she put a lot of sugar, and it is difficult to say no to a sweet, but well I always had to put something to the melon, for example I really like to chop it and put a sweetener and Lemon, or prepare a banana smoothie with Melon, the truth is that I have always found it hard to eat a piece of Melon alone, because many times it does not come as sweet as I would like.

I am not an expert in buying this exuberant fruit, the little I know, I owe it to my husband because he likes it very much, he always tells me that his father could eat half a melon in a few minutes, well my husband faithfully believes that his father was very healthy because he ate many vegetables and fruits and among them the one he consumed the most was the melon.

So at home we buy melon because my husband likes it and because I know that like all fruits it is full of many good things for our body.

This time I did my shopping in one of my favorite supermarkets, there are not many people there, I shop quietly, I feel at home, and when I arrived I was excited because I saw that there were very beautiful melons.

Trying to choose a good melon

They were somewhat large, but to the eye they looked very good, honestly I do not have many tips on how to choose a good melon, but I always look at the color, the one I chose was yellow but very pale with some greenish parts, I think this fruit should not be bought with a very green shell, I think this fruit should not be bought with the shell too green or too yellow, it should also feel firm to the touch, and the smell, as I mentioned in the pineapple challenge, well the melon also when it is sweet should smell at its ends, it is a delicate smell, sometimes I think I'm obsessed with smelling everything hahahaha.

There were whole and halved melons, but I took my whole fruit. Now what I don't know is if it was expensive or if I got a good price, the truth is that they were so beautiful in this place that I didn't want to go anywhere else. My melon weighed 1.750 grams and its cost was 2.89 dollars, which in our currency, the bolivar, would be 100.71 Bs.

How do I keep the melon.

As soon as I got home I washed it very well I chopped it and immediately gave it a taste, it was very tasty, it was quite sweet, and its texture was firm as I like, so this time I did not put anything, it was so good that I ate it just in pieces, for example a picture! I really rarely get melons as good as this one, oh and from the excitement of having bought a sweet melon, I forgot to tell you how I keep it, well after I take what I'm going to eat I just put a transparent plastic of those called envoplast and keep it in the fridge, it can last two to 3 days at the latest, I will use another piece to make a delicious smoothie with Banana.

Hoy me uno nuevamente a la iniciativa vegana que ha traído nuestra amiga @sirenahippie.

Les confieso que el melón no es precisamente una de mis frutas preferidas, cuando era niña mi madre lo compraba y casi siempre hacia jugos con el y de esa manera lo consumía porque ella le ponía mucha azúcar, y es difícil decirle no a un dulce, pero bueno siempre tenía que ponerle algo al melón, por ejemplo me gusta mucho picarlo y ponerle un endulzante y Limón, o preparar un batido de banana con Melón, lo cierto es que siempre me ha costado comerme un pedazo de Melón solo, porque muchas veces no viene tan dulce como quisiera.

No soy una experta en comprar esta exuberante fruta, lo poco que se, lo debo a mi esposo ya que a él si le gusta mucho, siempre me cuenta que su papá se podía comer medio melón en unos minutos, bueno mi esposo cree fielmente que su padre era muy saludable porque comía muchas verduras y frutas y entre ellas la que más consumía era el melón.

Entonces en casa compramos Melón porque a mí esposo le gusta y porque sé que como todas las frutas está llena de muchas bondades para nuestro cuerpo.

Esta vez mí compra la hice en uno de mis supermercados favoritos, en ese lugar no hay mucha gente, compro tranquila, me siento como en casa, y cuando llegué me emocioné porque vi que habían melones muy hermosos.

Intentando elegir un Buen Melón.

Eran algo grande, pero a la vista se veían muy bien, sinceramente no tengo muchos tips de cómo elegir un buen Melón, pero siempre suelo ver el color, el que escogí era amarillo pero muy pálido con algunas partes medio verdosas, creo que esta fruta no se debería comprar ni con la concha muy verde, ni muy amarilla, además al tacto se debe sentir firme, y el olor, así como lo mencioné en el reto de la piña, pues el melón también cuando esta dulce debe oler en sus extremos, es un olor delicado, a veces creo que estoy obsesionada con oler todo jajajaja.

Había Melones enteros y picados por la mitad, pero yo me lleve mi fruta entera. Ahora lo que no se bien es si me costó caro o si conseguí buen precio, lo cierto es que estaban tan bonitos en este lugar que no quise ponerme a dar vueltas en otro lado. Mi Melón peso 1. 750 gramos y su costo fue de 2,89 dólares que en nuestra moneda el bolívar serian 100,71 Bs.

Como conservo el Melón.

Apenas llegué a casa lo lavé muy bien lo piqué y enseguida le di una probada, resulta que estaba muy rico, estaba bastante dulce, y su textura firme como me gusta, así que esta vez no le puse nada estaba tan bueno que me lo comí solo en pedazos, para muestra una foto! verdaderamente pocas veces consigo melones tan bueno como este, ah y de la emoción de haber comprado un dulce melón, se me olvidaba decirles como lo conservo, pues después que tomo lo que voy a comer solo le pongo un plástico transparente de esos llamados envoplast y lo guardo en la nevera, puede durar dos a más tardar 3 días, Ya usaré otro pedazo para hacer un delicioso batido con Banana.
