Few days ago I was visiting the island Pag, Croatia for some job. I haven't been there for a while. Across the channel to Pag, there's my favorite mountain Velebit, which I mentioned so many times in my blog posts here. Somewhere on that mountain the smartest & the most spiritual scientist of all time was born - Nikola Tesla. When I was coming back to the land, I shot these, some from the island & some from the ferry on the way back...
Can you see the house?! In the middle of nowhere, standing alone in the bottom of the mountain, next to the sea. No road reaching it & reachable only by boat. Incredible! That is what I would call "the house on the mountain by the sea" - perfect!
The end of the new ferry dock built recently has a small lighthouse & on the tiny island in front, there's one more...
This tiny island looks more like a giant rock than an island but it is big enough to hold the lighthouse. Behind it is the highest mountain in Croatia.
The new dock shot from the begining.
Island Pag is maybe the windiest island of all. The wind is so strong there that it blew away almost all the dirt & left just the rocks. It also lifts sea drops & salts the rocks. There were the cases that also it lifts the fish out from the sea & throws it on the beach.
There an NLO black dot. I just saw it while editing the shot in Lightroom.
From the ferry I made this shot from the other side of the rock-island with the lighthouse. Behind it, lies island Pag which stretches far in the distance towards the South.
In the next shots I turned fully towards the East, in the direction of the moving ferry, so the shots focus on the land cause on the opposite side, towards the West & island Pag, which we left behind, was the intensive light coming from the Sundown.
In the middle of this land there's a road connecting the Southern Croatian region called Dalmatia with the North-West regions - Kvarner & Istria. It is one my favorite roads to travel. Very wild & potentially dangerous with low traffic.
There were more houses that I noticed but the one here is really inspiring!
There was bura again blowing but mildly, the Sun was already going down, the sky was intensively blue & few white clouds were making the scenery more dynamic. I also liked the different textures & the density of the layers - from the sky, over the land to the sea.
The upper shots I made with Nikon Z6 & Nikon AF Nikkor 35-70 mm lens & for the self-portrait below I used the same lens with the older Nikon D800.
