This is a shot of my beautiful bestie in the back field at the farm we grew up on. This field is sitting in the perfect spot to get the most beautiful golden light in the evenings. Particularly in the

Trying a couple different techniques here, as you can see, this is a bit less messy than I usually do. I was inspired by the "At The Circus" theme for an art contest (check it out HERE!). Although

Pictured here is the lovely lady who puts up with @jkms on a daily basis, Rebecca Our families try to get together for a family climb (all levels, all ages!) in Kelowna each year around Thanksgiving (that's

I have been a vegetarian ever since I was a kid. As soon as it dawned on me that my dinner consisted of dead animals, it was a no-brainer. My mum was supportive but concerned, as a mum in the 90s would

This beautiful mother of one came to me looking to have something of an empowerment photo session. She's not a model, but 4 years after becoming a very young mom, she wanted some nice photos of herself.

This is one of my favourite shots of our cat, Miss Muggins. When it snows, she likes to sit by the window and try to get the snowflakes. I think she knows that she can't get them through the glass... I

Well, here's an entry into @juliank's #macrophotography @photocontests This shot is from a hike in the woods with @somebuttstuff and @mstafford last weekend. I think it's my fault that we didn't make it

This day was a rough day. It was another spontaneous creative shoot with two of my favourites- Haely of DejaVu Model Management and makeup artist Zaheer Sukhnandan. The idea was to do a beauty shoot,

Got my hands on some hydrangea and played with long exposures and backlighting. Shot on my Canon with the nifty fifty f/1.8 II. F/22 ISO 100 in bulb mode. This exposure was somewhere around 30sec. Thanks

I'm trying my hand at some little competitions around Steemit. Don't mind me! This scribble party took me a total of 13 minutes to whip up (shoutout to my hairdryer)- the competition allows only a 15 minute

When I was young, like a lot of little girls, I was horse OBSESSED. The margins of all my schoolwork are full of horsie doodles. I couldn't wait to get out of class and to the barn. My fantasy was to go

This morning when I woke up it was a bit dreary outside. The dogs and I stayed in bed longer than we normally would. Sleeping in is their favourite... mine too. They like to snuggle up as close as they

Play, Play, Play. I met Mavy 7ish years ago when I was in photography school. We were in a small town... she was pretty much the only model around, and I was the only "fashion" photographer around.

Whenever KEY Model Management asks me to work with one of their New Faces, I jump on the chance! They have a great eye and they train their models very well. Working with new models is both difficult and

I always enjoy playing with composition in portraits.. even with animals. You can't see the whole dog in the shot, but as his loving (only slightly obsessive) guardian, I know exactly who it is, and it's

Sigh- I was trying to get the last kiss of a ferocious sunset dancing on the waves frozen in time. In other words, I was trying to do sunset photography a bit differently. I think I succeeded... I love

One again for @photocontests #longexposurephotography this week! Now, this wouldn't be considered much of a long exposure for landscape photography, but for fashion, it's very long at 1/3 sec! The goal

For @photocontests #smartphonephotography contest! The theme for smarphone this week is LIGHT I picked this shot because I was so excited about the light when I took it. I spent more time than I care to

I can hardly believe that 100 folks are interested in what I have to say! I mean, I have 700+ on my instagram, but this feels more real and more significant. I was so tentative to join this platform...

Back when I was building my portrait portfolio, my dear friend Sundee was kind enough to come to my studio for a little makeover and shoot session. She is so beautiful! I learned a lot during this shoot
