Trying a couple different techniques here, as you can see, this is a bit less messy than I usually do.
I was inspired by the "At The Circus" theme for an art contest (check it out HERE!). Although many different scenes popped into my mind, I've never really thought of the Circus as a joyful or ethical place. Much animal cruelty & human exploitation lies beneath the surface of the classic images of the glamorous circus.
Anyways, I selected the one critter that was impervious to all the shady goings-on at the circus... the carousel horse! Carved with beautiful, intricate, ornate beauty, these animals delighted children for generations, and I personally still find them to be captivating.
I don't really think I've done them justice here, but I tried!
And, for those if you who enjoyed my horse painting and heartfelt musings earlier this week, isn't it interesting that this horse just flowed right out of me, just a couple days later? Again, still lots of improvements to be done and skills to develop, but I'm starting to feel a bit safer connecting with my inner horse-girl, which I think I had banished to a corner.
Anyway, thank you everyone for your support in my crazy painting attempts.. I really appreciate it!
Until next time! Cheers!
