Bared teeth
Sandra’s bared teeth are hilarious. She started losing teeth at age five. At some point, her mother's friend will always cajole her by shouting Sandra, say cheese.” Knowing that once she says cheese, she bares her teeth.
Every time she sees me at the church, she runs to meet me, telling me that she has lost another tooth. When I ask her what she did with the teeth, she will happily say that her mother used the teeth to buy bean balls for her. Other times, she would say her mum had thrown the teeth onto their roof so that the Lizard would swallow the teeth and cause her own to grow.
At some point, Sandra lost her smile because of her missing teeth. She was also tired of baring her teeth.
Suddenly, everybody moved on and forgot about Sandra’s lost teeth. People also stopped asking her to bare her teeth.
However, one Sunday, after the church service, Sandra happily ran to me, shouting aunty, aunty while she happily bared her teeth. I glanced through, joyfully embraced, and lifted her in celebration of the victory.

Sandra bared her teeth for me, and it showed that all her teeth were fully intact, nothing missing, nothing broken.
