If You Could Choose Any Profession, What Would It Be and Why?
Hello #indiaunited friends, I trust you are doing wonderfully well. Happy to be with you again and again.
I like several professions, such as law, entrepreneurship, and becoming a doctor. Given my years of experience in the field and in my country of origin, I would choose to become an army officer if I could choose a profession again.
Several times, I have told my senior sister that I would have loved to be an army officer. Yes, you heard me right. A full bloody army officer.
In my country of origin, it seems people like force too much. From the area boys who loiter on the streets and roads, looking for an opportunity to strike at unsuspecting individuals, to transporters on the road who will never obey traffic rules or simple traffic signs. The defiant attitude is damning and frustrating. Individuals, especially the wealthy ones, will sometimes purposely carry military personnel anytime they are on the road to be able to navigate terrains that are too rough, with the agberos disturbances. It is frustrating.
One day, I missed the staff bus and joined my sister to get to work. On our way, a transporter nearly bashed her car, and when she complained, the individual blocked her vehicle with the intention to trouble us.
At that point, a military personnel who was stuck in that traffic and scene came down to check what was going on, only for him to see the transporter bragging that he wouldn’t move his vehicle. He released his belt and started flogging the transporter. Without wasting time, he ran to his vehicle and zoomed off the road.
Imagine I am an army officer just like that man; That transporter wouldn’t stand in our way. Those agberos, transporters, and troublesome individuals fear the uniform, let alone seeing a personnel face to face. They pay a price for that uniform, especially when it comes to their core role of protecting lives and property. I would still not mind being one of them.
The military personnel, especially the army, are well respected globally, including in my country of origin. People don’t mess around with them. Wherever and whenever they are on the road, at an event, or around the corner, the area is calm; sanity and order are maintained. Peace reigns, but once they are out of sight, the environment becomes chaotic and charged.
In conclusion, becoming an army officer is my best choice of profession if I were to choose again.
