Lagos is overpopulated, yet we still find many people coming from different states to make it their base because it is a city where, if you know what you are doing, you can easily make it here due to the population and demand for goods and services.

I was born in Lagos and spent most of my life here. I spent two years in Ijebu Ode, and that was when I went there to live with my sister and did my junior secondary school 1 and 2 there before moving back to Lagos to complete my studies.
I was still young then, so I did not explore Ijebu, but after I graduated from secondary school and paid a visit to my cousin living in Ibadan for two weeks, I noticed some things about Ibadan state which surprised me.
Recently, I visited Ibadan city again, and to my surprise, nothing changed about those things I found surprising about the city.
Less Traffic
What surprised me during my first visit to this city was how cabs would pack and wait for passengers to board their vehicles, like Ibadan people are not in a rush at all, people in Lagos can't relate to this because boarding vehicles here is a war! So it came as a surprise to see the peaceful life they are living in Ibadan, even their street is not crowded like Lagos street... During my recent visit, nothing changed because I saw fewer people on the streets, imagine the largest city in Nigeria having less population than Lagos.
Abuse
When it comes to insults, give Ibadan people A1, these people can abuse. When I got to where I wanted to board the bus to the city, there were two seats left, I met a guy there who claimed one of the seats has been taken by him, I did not find the other seat comfortable, so I told the driver to refund my money so I could wait for the next bus. The guy later agreed to sit down there, if you see how some of the passengers started to grumble and abuse him, saying Why didn't he accept at first and other blah blah that the guy had to use an earpiece.

They are accomodating
On my way back to Lagos, when I got to where I wanted to board a bus to Lagos, the bus was not in the park so I asked a woman who owns a shop around there and she explained to me that the bus is coming and also showed me others waiting for the bus, she even offered me a seat in her shop, this kind of accommodating gesture is rare in lagos, I loved the woman kindness, luckily I needed to use the Pos so I patronized her.
When it comes to old houses, Ibadan and Abeokuta should compete to know the city with the most old houses, though we also have developed areas in both cities, but those old houses will always be there.
For someone who wants a peaceful life, I think Ibadan is one of the cities that can offer that.
