When a breakup happens who suffers it the most? Some people say it's the male while some believe it's the female for different reasons! Some even go as far as to count losses, what they did while they were in a relationship, what they gained and what they lost, firstly let me say that is childish if you were the person that caused the breakup to happen! Just because you’ve done certain things for a person does not give you an entitlement to joke with their feelings or treat them like crap! Although there are some exceptions, there always is.. It's not plain black and white in relationships nowadays, I'll give illustrations!

Let say a guy and lady are together and the guy has no means of livelihood, the lady does and she has been taking care of the relationship’s financial needs which includes taking care of her man, she isn't complaining just hoping that one day he goes out and finds a job… this goes on for years, and let's not forget the lady has other responsibilities in this relationship , so she doesn't only take care of financial responsibility but others as well; you'll agree with me that it would me quite tremendous for her alone right? Okay! So about 7years later this guy get a good paying job and we're all rejoicing and happy that his lady that has endured with him all these years is about to eat the fruits of her labour but what happens? He suddenly believes he needs a classier girl and then probably offer some money to this girl that's been with him or even leave her with no money then he goes on with his new life with a new lady…

Another illustration, a female having rough times in school, with her family, maybe emotional problems too and there comes this guy ready to work it all out for her.. pays her tuition fee, helps the family stand on their feet again and brings a certain kind of hope to this girl…he isn't very rich just comfortable enough to place her needs above his… now they're in a relationship for some years and she graduates then all of a sudden meets a wealthy guy and then from that day onwards everything her partner does appears so wrong to her, she now tolerates him and in the end leaves him for the new guy …

These things happen and we can't stop them from happening no matter how long we keep calling these persons ’ungrateful’! The point is; with this two illustrations you would agree with the that in illustration 1 the female is definitely the one that'll be heartbroken and possibly damaged and in illustration 2 of course the man should be the heartbroken one! The point is that heartbreak isn't synonymous to a gender; everyone can feel it in anyway and at anytime, it all depends on the situation that brought about the breakup! Please let's stop pinning the ability to feel heartbreak on just one gender!
