Hey, dear Beer community! Welcome to my participation in the #BeerSaturday challenge in its week 426. I've been waiting for August to end for a while! It's been a while since I met up with my Discord friends to have a couple of beers while we challenged each other in Splinterlands tournaments. But Saturday finally arrived, and I decided to buy several brands of beer. So far, I've only tried two of them, and they're the ones I want to review for you now: the Venezuelan beer Mal Portada and the Colombian Poker.
Mal Portada beer is a truly interesting case because this brand emerged in the Venezuelan market as a sangria brand that became well-known over time and is now making inroads into the beer market. Meanwhile, I bought P贸ker beer because I had already tried Andina beer and liked it quite a bit, so I wanted to give this brand a try.
I decided to start with Mal Portada beer mainly because it was recommended by my dear @ineyashami, who introduced me to this new beer on the market with her review. I had a hard time finding it at home, so I had to go beyond the historic center of Caracas to get it. After chilling it during the afternoon, we prepared our special glass and proceeded to serve it.
This beer is a Pilsen-style beer, perfect for those who, even though we are in the last days of summer, the heat remains relentless even at night. The alcohol content is another detail that must be considered, it is quite low to be honest: 4.5% and being a pilsner type its flavor is similar to that of Polar Light and although it may seem like a negative aspect, I think it was the ideal beer for this moment of camaraderie with friends while we played Splinterlands.
After tasting the Mal Portada beer, we moved on to Poker, a Colombian beer that, curiously, is close to being a hundred years old, having been founded in 1929! I love trying these beers with a long tradition. It's worth mentioning that this beer even has a lower alcohol content, at 4%, something I've never seen before in a lager.
I won't deny it, it was a bit unpleasant going from 4.5% to 4% ABV and I even tried to find some whiskey to enhance the drink but unfortunately I had already run out of malt whiskey and I had a Jack Daniel's but it was sealed and I wasn't going to open it for that, so I finished drinking the beer with some disappointment.
Well, friends, in short, we are looking at two beers that, although their ABV is quite low, I must admit that they are very refreshing and foamy, an aspect I love in a good beer. In both cases, the smooth flavor makes them ideal to pair with food or to spend some time chilling with friends. The only drawback I find is its volume. At 250 mL, it seems quite small to me, even needing two cans to completely fill my beer. Other than that, these beers have a solid 8. If you're looking for a light drink with a lower alcohol content and want to have a good time with friends, this is a good option. See you at the next #BeerSaturday challenge, friends. Cheers!

Saludos!
