W międzyczasie wróciłem do hotelu i ponownie poprosiłem recepcjonistkę o pomoc.
[ENG] It pains me to write this, but I am very disappointed with Volvo's assistance service. The puncture seems to have overwhelmed them. I was aware that they were not going to sort anything out on a Sunday, in fact I was told on the helpline on Saturday to contact them on Monday afternoon. When I called yesterday I was told that everything was under control and that the car would be back to me by the end of the day. It is easy to see that this has not happened. When I called the helpline this morning I was told that I would have to find a vulcaniser to fix it myself. With the help of a friendly receptionist I found one, now all I have to do is get the car there. The receptionist phoned the place where my car had been transported, but was told that there was no such car there. This was not true as I have GPS information on where my car is at the moment. I called the Volvo assistance hotline again and this time they said they were looking into the matter. They have the address of the vulcaniser where the car is to be delivered, so I don't have to worry and everything is under control. Around midday I received an SMS asking me to confirm that I agreed to the service being carried out by company X. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter which company repairs the car. Just who do I have to confirm it to? The SMS came from a Belgian gateway and the company is Spanish. I call the company, but unfortunately we are separated by a language barrier. The second time, with the help of Google Translator, I find out that I need to call the technician dealing with the problem directly. Once again, I ask for help from Volvo Assistance, where I am told that I cannot find out anything due to the language barrier. The operator generously calls the Spanish company, which gives me the same phone number for the technician, who, according to the operator, speaks English. I had to wait until 4pm to find out, because that's when the siesta ends. Of course, when I got through, it turned out that the technician "non abla inglese". Another call to Volvo Assistance, this time I was told that the operator would forward the case to the Iberian department and they would get back to me as soon as possible. That's six hours ago, or I'm still waiting for someone to call. In the meantime, I went back to the hotel and asked the receptionist for help again. She called the technician and said that the car would be delivered to the vulcaniser tomorrow morning at the latest. I don't know what to make of all this, I've been paying extra for assistance for as long as I can remember, but if you break down, you deal with it yourself. I've already had the thought today of calling the mechanic, going to where the car is parked, unscrewing the broken wheel, taking it to the vulcaniser, fixing it, coming back, putting it back on and taking the car away. I think I'll do that tomorrow, because I can't enjoy my holiday in these conditions anyway, and secondly, you can't plan anything because, oh, they'll call you to pick up the car.
Pojechaliśmy dziś nad morze do Port Seplaya, fajne urokliwe miejsce, czasami określane hiszpańską Wenecją, ale to jest gruba przesada. Później spacer wzdłuż morza do Plajta de la Patacona, skąd autobusem wróciliśmy do Walencji, żeby jak najszybciej dotrzeć do hotelu po pomoc we wspomnianej wcześniej sprawie.
[ENG] Today we went to the sea, to Port Seplaya, a cool, charming place, sometimes called the Venice of Spain, but that is a gross exaggeration. Then a walk along the sea to Plajta de la Patacona, from where we took the bus back to Valencia to get to the hotel as quickly as possible to help with the aforementioned problem.
