Good Afternoon, Evening and Morning Steemit folks.
In speaking with my beautiful wife this morning she said something that was like a splinter in my brain.
I mentioned that my left knee was still feeling strange, like nothing I had felt before from shortly after a picture I put in my second last post:
I leaped from the tree, just as I would have a million times before, but when I hit the ground it was nothing like I had done before!
When my dear bride said: "You need to be a little more careful maybe.. You're not nineteen anymore!"
No, no I certainly am not! haha
One of these days I'll do my first introduceyourself post. I'm just not ready for that quite yet. I try to give a bit of insight into myself in each post, some more than others.
I've been thinking about for some time now, and avoiding it for just as long... Doing a handful of posts regarding how to do some light exercise to get your body functioning better. Why? See, if I tell you these are things to do, and don't practice them myself - the guilty feeling outweighs the good of sharing the info with you guys. I've considered lately a guy who worked out at the same gym as I at the time the first photo was taken. He was, is a cop in the town we live in/near. He was about a decade older than I, but we kept similar pace at the gym, busting our balls most every day. I don't see him rolling around in the cop mobile anymore, I haven't seen him since I moved away from this town, about a decade ago. I suspect he's in better shape than I am now, I don't know. Anyway: if he could do it, I can do it now.
I jest with people, and have had lots of opportunity with minielf on the way. I was at a specialist appointment for myself a few weeks back and jumped on the scale. 183 pounds... like 78kg. The dietitian asked "is that a pretty normal weight for you?". I replied "oh no, just, -see, we're pregnant"
I weigh exactly now what I weigh in the first and third picture from a decade back. With about thirty more pounds of adipose tissue (FAT) than I did then.
I'm super fortunate to have my dear wife who doesn't loathe me for being in better shape.
Over the years my concept of what physical health looks like has definitely changed.
There's been a handful of things that have molded my views.
I started taking traditional Karate lessons some years back that really changed everything. I thought I was strong until my instructor told me to do a pushup. Not any pushup - but a proper one. :S
Eventually you'll see what these look like if you read other posts relative to this one.
I combination of this, mixed with training through my work from a dear friend and Dr. of chiropractic, and hurting myself doing all sorts of stupid things has lead me to develop a small program that can give you a great foundation for mobility, strength and physical well being. It takes about 20 minutes a day. 3 times a week. Or more if you want, it really doesn't matter - it would just speed up progress. Most all of the moves require zero equipment, the ones that do allow you to use things like a rubber band, or a can of soup or beans or whatever - just not canned potatoes.
I'm writing this to hold myself accountable even more than to tell you what is coming.
I just need to learn a few things. I'm thinking animated .gif s would be the best way to show everyone how to do these rather than posting each exercise on @DTube. Which means I need to learn some computer stuff things, and that's not so easy for me. Once it's up, I'll do a challenge of some sort to give people a reason to try it out.
I WOULD LOVE to hear some input on how/what you would like this to include.
I stole the meme, don't know where it came from. And the sign "beauty is in the eye of the beer holder" - I took a shot of that in Plano tx at a German restaurant about eight years back.
I'm going to hit "Post" before I reconsider. Keep it real Steemit fam. Questions, input, any insight is always welcomed.
