Hi Friends,
Over the recent holiday, I smoked some pork spare ribs in my electric smoker so I thought I would make a post about it.
First off, I should mention that I rarely use my smoker, but use my bbq grill a lot. The smoker is a pain in the rear to clean, and I usually do not have the time to monitor the meat all day long like it takes with a smoker.
That being said, I did give it a go, and the ribs came out well. Here is how it went down:
I purchased two full racks of St. Louis cut ribs but had to cut both of them a little bit as they are too long to fit in my vertical smoker. I seasoned with Famous Dave’s Rib Rub (my method uses a dry rub), and then smoked with applewood chips for one 1 hour, meat side up, and then rotated the ribs and smoked for another 1 hour. Then, I took them out and put some brown sugar on the top, and placed them face down in the foil and cooked for another 2 hours, rotating at the hour mark. I kept a steady temperature of 275 degrees for all 4 hours.
After that, they were done! Here is how they looked:
A fun thing to do, and a tasty reward at the end.
Thanks for stop
