WHAT
(What Hive offers you as an individual)
If you had told me five years ago that I would be blogging on the Internet and forming relationships with people from all over the world I would have called you crazy.
I always had a feeling that I could be some kind of writer at some point in my life, even if it was just technical writing.
Here I am in 2020 with over two years under my belt writing a blog not just online, but on a blockchain and actually earning some money from it. More than that, I have established relationships with people from all over the globe.
Hive has truly become and outlet for me and an exercise for my mind to hone this craft and learn as I go.
WHY
(How Hive is different to other social media and blogging platforms)
It seems every time a new social media platform comes out, everyone waits to see if it will be the thing that kills the long established platforms like Facebook, etc. Personally, I don't think you can look at it that way.
The things I do on Hive vs. Facebook are completely different. I would never write a five hundred word post on Facebook about my recent trip or the food I BBQ'd the night before. Hive is the perfect home for that content.
I do see Hive as more of a disruption to the status quo versus a direct replacement for it.
Hive gives me the ability to flex some creative and mental muscles in a safe space.
WHO

It would take much more space than I have available here to fully articulate the joy an edification each of these people/communities give me. The best advice I can give you is to check them out for yourself to find out just how awesome they are.
WHERE
(The front ends / dapps of your choice and why)
Peakd is my go-to choice for creating and editing content on the Hive blockchain. It is basically the first thing that I open each day when I get into my office. I spend a good deal of my morning reading and replying to bloggers that I regularly follow.
After that, I spend some time in PeakD writing my own daily post, and then replying to comments on said post via the same front end.
When I get home, I rely on @Ecency to reply to incomming comments on my post. They have been doing a lot of work lately to make that app a driving force for mobile content creation.
Without those two front ends, I probably wouldn't spend nearly as much time as I do on the Hive chain. They just make it so easy to create, interact, and curate.

(My final thoughts & conclusion)
Hive has totally changed the way my world rotates. Has it made me rich? (hardly!), It does however make me more aware of my surroundings. Anything can be a post on Hive! In fact, my wife will often be going through our shared photo album and ask "why did you take a picture of this?". Ultimately, my reply will usually be "it was for a post honey".
Hive has made me more engaged and aware of the world that is happening around me. Like the world, Hive is an ecosystem that I find myself living in every day.
I was recently on a vacation where I was away from Hive for about five days and although refreshing, it also felt weird to not be connected to the community I have come to know and love.
