I wrote a post about this obscure indie game a few months ago. It was my first post about it, and it had "PART ONE" in the title, but soon after I published it, I stopped expecting myself to write another post about Aquamarine. Well, not in this life, at least. I got immersed in other, much bigger games, the kind of games one can play for years and still have something to find or experiment with. One of them was Red Dead Redemption Two. I also played Cyberpunk 2077. And so I forgot about the litlle artsy jewel called Aquamarine. However, before leaving behind the game I'm talking about today ...
... I took a bunch of screenshots that could support a post one day. Not a big and elaborate one, but still a post of decent size and not quite worthless.
This screenshot shows the shallows, a biome that I talked about in the first post about the game. However, there is one thing in the picture that you won't find in that old post. It is a translucent creature that resembles a manta ray mixed with some jellyfish. I took the screenshot on my way to the deeper waters where an ancient sunken city lies.
The following link ...

... can take you to that old post where you can learn more about the game and its unusual art style that I find very charming.
This screenshot shows my first encounter with the ancient sunken ruins. Some weird, slug-like creatures were resting on the thick walls of the decaying structures of what must once have been a harbor of a large, prosperous city. I soon learned those animals had long tongues, about twice the size of their soft bodies...
...and they use their tongues as a chameleon would.
I had to create strong vibrations with my spherical submarine to get out of the sticky situation.
These alien slug-chameleons are obviously predators, but I felt completely safe inside my litlle, technologically highly advanced diving sphere. I got caught with a tongue quite a few times, and each time I managed to escape.
If you take the time to examine all the litlle details in this screenshot, you'll notice an interesting creature near the center of the picture, right below my submarine. It looks like a cross between a crab and a cephalopod of sorts. The variaty alien animals adds a lot to the entertainment factor of this game.
To survive in the alien environment, I relied mostly on plants to get enough food. However, all that underwater flora was completely unknown to me, so I had to get the samples analyzed by the submarine computer. That was very important to avoid serious or even lethal poisoning. In the above picture, you can see an interesting alien plant releasing a greenish substance from its tentacles. Despite the slightly disquieting appearance of that thing, after a quick analysis, everything seemed all right, so I had a delicious underwater breakfast, but...
...but an hour or so later, my brain started perceiving things quite differently than before. It wasn't unpleasant, though; I just found a new drug. A drug which is completely legal becouse there's no legislation or law enforcement here on this forsaken ocean planet. This happened once before, at the beginning of the game, when I was exploring the shallows around the small islet on which my Robinson Crusoe base is situated.
As you can see in the above GIF animation made of five consecutive screenshots, I was inside a structure that looks like the remains of a small room or something like that.
There was a well-preserved data disk in that ruin. It looked like something I had to explore to see if the data were still usable and possibly helpful. I decided to get the disc, but ...
...but one of those slug-chameleon creatures was waiting in ambush on the wall near the data disc.
I had to use the powerful vibrations of my submarine to get rid of the sticky tongue and collect the disc.
Later, I came across another data disc in that area. The data I collected were helpful and interesting, but I can't tell you much about them becouse I don't remember what I found out after I processed them through my submarine computer. I played the game many months ago. Such details have long vanished from my head.
To get the fuel for my submarine, I search for and break big crystals. In this tryptich you can see me breaking stuff for fuel.
These two screenshots continue to show you the process of my fuel gathering at the bottom of the deep alien sea.
If you examine all the litlle details in this last picture, you'll find another interesting animal from the alien ocean.
AND THAT'S IT, THE POST ENDS HERE - THE END.
