I have been here long enough to notice them and to know they exist, but I never found the time or felt the need to delve into what they really are.
so now, that I find myself more and more engaged and committed, I make the time to become a better Hiver myself, in part, so I can better help others.
today was one of those days where one thing lead to another and one post lead me down the rabbit hole.
Curation trails were without a doubt where I had to go figure today.

I found this (updated) post to be helpful and following it, managed to register for Hive.vote, find, follow and configure the settings for my trails of choice.

bottom line, using those sources for orientation, I managed to wrap my head around the concept, then register, search, choose and follow several curation trails, some of which, I was already familiar with (as in the case of 
also, I have configured my desired settings for each one of the followed trails.
now, I will be observing the results and draw my conclusions and maybe go back to fine-tune those settings if necessary.
