Before I knew it, August had passed, and we are now at the start of September. How was your August, friends? I hope it went smoothly and that September will be even better.
As usual, on the 1st of the month, it is time for HPUD—Hive Power Up Day. Today, I powered up 400 Hive. Before the power-up, I held 1,340 Hive Power (HP), and after the power-up, that figure rose to 1,740 HP.
When I wrote my previous HPUD post, I wasn't chasing a huge Hive Power milestone. I only wanted to build one simple habit: write consistently.
I had set several goals for August in my previous HPUD post: delegating Hive Power to Ecency and Topcomment, setting Ecency as a beneficiary, writing consistently to meet the Ecency Quest monthly target of 20 posts, and remaining active in reading and commenting.
Here are the results:
I have delegated a portion of my Hive Power to @ecency and
@topcomment.
I set all my posts throughout August to allocate a 3% beneficiary share to Ecency. Although it might seem small, I wanted to show my support for this awesome platform.
Regarding the target of 20 posts, I managed to publish 30 posts during August. I challenged myself to adopt a daily writing habit, and I proved I could do it. The number 30 wasn't my biggest achievement in August; rather, the fact that I no longer had to convince myself to write every day was my greatest accomplishment.
Being able to write 30 posts in August—writing every single day—might seem impressive. In reality, writing every day isn't that easy.
There were times when I ran out of ideas and didn't know what to write. On other occasions, I couldn't even continue the piece I was currently working on.
There were also moments when, before I had finished writing about one idea, another would pop up; I would immediately start writing the new one without completing the previous draft.
There are even times when, instead of stopping, I write about the writer's block I'm experiencing—simply because I don't know what else to write. Hehehe... I don't write to produce a perfect piece; I just want to keep the chain of my daily writing habit unbroken.
I started trying out a blockchain-based game on Hive called Hive Grove. I’m not really a gamer, but curiosity led me to try this simple game, and it turned out to be really fun.

Another unexpected thing was having a flood of writing ideas all at once. These ideas came from my desire to join various writing contests I found in different communities. I already had outlines in mind for a few contests, but unfortunately, the deadlines passed before I could actually write them up.😅
It wasn't for a lack of ideas, but rather a lack of time to write more than one post a day.🙄
Maintain my daily writing habit—aiming for at least 20 posts a month to meet the Ecency quest requirements.
Resume active curation as part of the Topcomment curation team. Not many people might know this, but I joined the Topcomment curation team last month. Over the past two weeks, I focused almost entirely on writing and interacting (including playing Hive Grove 😅). This month, I want to strike a better balance.
Explore various Hive frontends. Last month, I used only Ecency; this month, I want to experience what other frontends are like. They might not differ drastically, but I believe each has its own strengths worth exploring.
Continue supporting Ecency by setting a 3% beneficiary on every post I create.
I’d like to host a contest to liven up the Hive community, though I haven't decided on the specific theme yet. Do you have any suggestions for a contest that might attract a lot of participants? Something simple, since I can't offer huge rewards just yet.
I think that’s all for today’s post. I don’t want it to get too long or boring.
One month ago I hoped writing would become a habit. Today, writing has become part of my daily routine. I still have many things I want to improve, but for now I'm happy that I simply kept showing up every day.
Happy Hive Power Up Day everyone!
