It's been another slow day. I spent the morning in the house checking some books and organizing my makeshift workshop. Now, I have a cabinet in the laundry room. There's less clutter around. The backyard doesn't look like a mess of tools any longer. But something was bothering me. I tried to keep my mind busy with simple task.
When mom came back from the groceries, she was pissed. People at the copy centre had made her waste half of the morning for some stuff I left for printing yesterday. It made no sense. The plans should've been already printed. However, a call a received made me worry even more. My father called from the place because there was a problem with the scaling of the plans. It didn't fit the paper. I told them that a reduction was no problem. But it is for sure a problem.
I've been collecting these plans for many instruments and wondering how to print them. I needed to spend money on it. There was no other way. And the least I can say is that these aren't my plans and they came with no instructions for printing. Nonetheless, that wasn't the only problem. When I looked at the papers brought back home, they weren't the things I paid. They were some building plans and something similar to a topography study. It was a little surprising, but my concern was other. It looked like some Architecture student's homework. Somebody was going to be in trouble.
Needless to say, I had to go back to the place and return the plans. Not because of the plans, but I needed my stuff. I had paid for it. So, I wasted another hour waiting for this to get printed. I looked at all the troubles in the drawings. They are all off-scale. It makes me wonder how you set a scale to have the correct fit printed. Also, I don't know how these plans were made. It looks like AutoCAD for me. But maybe I'm wrong.
But it is an interesting reference to have. Now, I need to look up for some insight into making these plans and knowing how to fit them properly. Otherwise, I'm going to have to make all these drawings by hand. No, thanks. Makes me wonder if anyone around has had a similar experience with printing something. Or does someone have any advice for the scaling of plans? It would much appreciated.
While the plans above are too small for the instrument they represent. This last one is too big for a Concert Ukulele. My own version of a sick joke.
This is a little something I got after going around town. I needed a precision compass for some drawings pending. Also, if I have to make my plans by hand, I will need a compass to help with circles and curves.
