A 2021 Challenge - Getting to know One Another / Bertrayo's Take
I usually don't partake much in challenges. However, I do find these topics interesting. In the spirit of Christmas and since my friend @stevenson7 nominated me, I decided to participate in this challenge, "Getting to Know One Another". A challenge initiated by
@emuse.
The challenge is to answer these 3 questions:
What have you done in
November?What are your plans for
December and the new year? How's 2021 treated you so far?
There's also some added questions, but @stevenson7 made no further inquiries. So, I'll answer the three ones above.
First, What have you done in November.
Chances are you have already stumbled upon one of my woodworking posts. I'm a luthier (a fancy French word referring to a person who crafts lutes, but nowadays it refers to musical-instruments-making). November was a month of a lot of work in my makeshift workshop. It was also a very bad month regarding internet. However, I managed to make a lot of progress on a request. That's the ongoing Venezuelan Cuatro #6 post. It was also a month to start planing next year's moves. Found a place to source tropical exotic woods for instruments and made a list of tools I was going to buy. So far a lot of the list has been checked out. And of course, I indulged in some binge-watching series and my favorite activity: meaningful-procrastination. That means I got to learn a lot about using paint guns, more luthier tips and else from awesome youtubers. Pretty great month if you ask me.
My plans for December and New Year
December is the month of my birthday and I actually wasn't caring a lot about it. I wanted to see if I could get more request for instruments. A friend and my cousin surprised me giving me cookies and a cake, respectively. But the joy of the month was cut short by having to take the car to the mechanic. It was a bummer! Some of the money I had set to spent in tools and other things was funneled to this problem. Fortunately, it was solved with no complications. And we went back to merry December. About plans for New Year. If it means celebration, I'm going to be at home, have dinner, drink as much as I can and be ready to go back to work on January 1st. If it refers to the whole year. Well, I want to work as much as I can both around here and in the workshop with these goals in mind. First, recover my HP and get even more. Second, find a place to move the whole operation. My space is running short at home. But finding anything else can prove challenging because of the current country situation. Let's see how it goes. Third, going back to working out. I was stopped on my tracks because of dengue. But as soon as I finish my vitamins, I'll be back on calisthenics and jumping rope. Fourth, meeting new people is always great. I also like keeping in touch with all these friends I have made so far!
How's 2021 treated you so far?
I can tell this has been an interesting year. Nothing has been worse than 2016 and all the shortages we lived through that year. My grandpa isn't around anymore but his mementos and stories will be with me forever. I've learned a lot. Have kept working on what I like. A lot of people has also become distant, but that doesn't matter at all. Everyone who doesn't keep in touch has their own struggles to go through. I'm a cactus friend. Don't need much attention to keep going. A funny side note to this is that I've finally gained this spot in the kitchen. So, I can cook and do stuff as much as I want. That's lovely! I hope next year is full of a lot of challenges and more learning. And of course, I'll do my best to keep myself healthy to enjoy it as much as I can.
This sums up my entry for this challenge. I think now I have to nominate people to do it. So, I'll give it a chance to my friend: @hlezama and
@mipiano to tells us a bit about this.
I'll add two questions for their entries.
- What was your toughest challenge this year?
- Did you accomplished any dream you had this year? Which one?
And of course, there's no obligation to do this, but have fun if you decide to follow through!
