We got to Warri faster and in a lot more comfort than I expected because of our decision to rent a taxi. So far, we have been indoors, greeting the parents and just bonding over random stuff.

I forgot to add that my sister travelled with us and later in the week, my brother will be joining us in Warri from Ibadan. It'll be the last time I'll see them before leaving and going to the UK to grind out a better life.

Meeting everyone under this circumstance is a bit surreal and weird in equal measure. I hoped for a time like this but now that it is here, I must admit that I am somewhat stunned by the general feeling in the atmosphere.

The church outside

Today is the first Sunday that I've truly felt like I'm in the South because unlike my Parents' house where there wasn't a church close to us, at Warri there's a very loud church that's a few meters away from the house.

I planned to take a short nap after breakfast but the noise from the church led me to Hive instead. So, here I am, whining about the very loud church.

I'll never understand why churches have to be so loud. If they tune down the speakers by a few decibels, everyone in the church will still hear everything but nope. they turn on the volume to deafening levels.

For what it's worth, it's not only churches I hate loud sounds from. I generally just hate any sound that's at that deafening level where you can't even hear your thoughts anymore.

Anyway, later today, I'll be heading out to a Sports bar to watch the community shield between Manchester City and Arsenal. Check out my arsenal4life@arsenal4life page where I will share my thoughts about the match later today.
