Recently a large granite sarcophagus was opened and those of us following with bright, shiny, eyes and excitement beyond measure, those of us who had been sat nursing our love of history that had limped along with no major discoveries in ages sat eagerly awaiting the event, it had been announced they would open it within hours and we had all speculated at what could be in such a detemined burial, I say determined because this was a huge granite sarcophagus, not the usual burial; no wooden box, no meager effort here, this had taken a lot of effort, it was made from black granite and the length 265 meters, wow was all I could think, this alone was enough to convery status to its occupant and whatever goods may lay within

this photo is the one used everywhere you go if you search the event
I had hoped that someone would place the video on the bockchain, I believe in getting as much antiquity on the blockchain as possible, in the same way when we first embraced the internet and I hoped all the worlds history would be placed on the internet for anyone to read, I entertained visions of some other person who also loves history and recognised this event was important and this was an opportunity to record the opening on the blockchain. I hoped ohers would recognise it is the perfect place for storing our history, I had hoped that an announcement would come saying livestream of sarcophagus opening and I waited with baited breath, and what happened?
Well it wasnt videoed, it wasnt livestreamed, in fact we were given a few photos and were told it held three soldiers and some sewer water
Hands up all those who were a little disappointed? So I find myself feeling suspicious to say the least, this event was in my eyes and many along with me, a significant event , all the indicators were towards something at the very least interesting but that was not my main dissapointment, it was part of it, but where was the livestream? Where was any kind of live coverage? Or video coverage? Anything? Why was such a find not logged, recorded to the hilt?
How easy it is to raise the sarcophagus, switch the contents, then place enough crap in there to give us something to talk about, take a few pics and knowing full well that the interest would die down and everyone would move on, all that will be left is a few of us history buffs, history respecting and devoted diehards rattling on about how there is no evidence of the sarcophagus we saw being opened, and who will listen to a few bleating voices once the next newsworthy item takes its place?
So many times our history has been ransacked, robbed, destroyed, stolen, deliberately changed, rulers destroy previous history so their view becomes the norm, rulers of many various countries throughout history have been known to destroy history books and have them rewritten, artifacts stolen or destroyed, for those of us with a genuine love of history it is heartbreaking, infuriating, and depressing, to lose any history
This is the history of the human race and we destroy or lose or change our own history to the point of ridiculousness. there are reports of many history departments suffering loss, artifacts stolen, and other reports, among them fraud, surely it would have been in everyones best interests to have the whole thing livestreamed? Transparency in this case would have left no room for speculation, it would have more importantly have been a fantastic opportunity to place on permanent record within the blockchain the historic opening of a fabulous time capsule. The reveal of the contents could have been really played up and created money for any department and there is no history department in the world that isnt asking for more money, they could have sold the rights to someone who could have filmed live, I honestly don't care how they could have made more of the situation i just wish they had
I find little interest or confidence in being shown a few before and after photos, in my mind it does not prove that this is even the same sarcophagus, that this is even the supposed contents, to my mind there is more stinks here than just the supposed sewer water found with the three soldiers. I find such disappointment at the handling of this event that I will say I find it suspicious and so now what goes on the blockchain is the fact that this event feels like it was a sham; the sarcophagus was real, the opening of it wasn't
Ok this post probably sounds like a rant, it is in a sense, but really if you know me at all it is a plea, it is me hoping I am wrong, hoping that somehow I have not found the link or seen the website or anything, anywhere, that does offer video recording of the event, in support of the idea I am always open to new information I will say that please if anyone does find any proper recording on film of the opening I would really appreciate knowing about it it, a link, a message anything, I would love to know someone had something
