English version
Walking along the beaches of Caigüire has become part of my daily routine; this time, I headed toward the Monumento neighborhood and, as a result, walked along the boardwalk. Since the distance from one point to the other is considerable, I had enough time to observe a significant change in the ocean’s swell.
The sky cleared up; when I started my walk, it looked like it might rain, but the threat disappeared completely as the dark clouds drifted away. It’s amazing how the scenery can change in a matter of minutes—the beach, which at first looked restless, later appeared peaceful and serene, blending in the distance with the blue of the sky.
This area is very close to the pier for sightseeing boats located at the Marina Plaza shopping center. You can see gannets fluttering about, waiting for the perfect moment to feed. When some of them rest on the water, they look like ducks; they were a bit far away, so I couldn’t get a good shot with my lens.
It’s very pleasant to be near the beach, enjoy the breeze, and watch the sun move across the sky as the day goes on. You should approach this time in nature with caution, because the sun in Cumaná can be intense at certain times of day—so much so that it can cause sunburn on delicate skin or skin that isn’t accustomed to high levels of solar radiation.
As far as foot traffic is concerned, the area feels quiet in the morning, partly because of the sun and partly because of the activities that typically take place during work hours. It’s in the afternoon when most people come to take a walk and enjoy watching the sunset from this spot. When the artificial lights come on, the area comes alive, a whole new perspective emerges, and a joyful atmosphere takes over.
