In my previous blog I wrote briefly about the type of books they were and what I liked about them. In this blog I'd mainly like to show you some of the books and share my thoughts.
Loving the fact that she's totally into books, especially these ones, I just had to buy her more.
Why not right? It's great for her development, it's a great bonding tool for all of us since Hubby and I take turns reading with her, and she's just so darn cute with them.
These books are the gifts that keep on giving and to be honest I felt kinda sad seeing her flip through the same three books all day long so I figured buy her more of what she loves.
As mentioned in part one these books are the touchy feely types. They're great but I wouldn't say they're bed time story material.
If you have a baby/toddler in your life that's beginning to explore through touch they might enjoy these books.
We had to go out and buy nappies today and I couldn't resist getting 2 more. To my defence, imho, they are two of the best in the series.
"Best" as in, they seem to be using different materials and textures in these two.
Well that escalated quickly lol
To be fair there's over 50 books in the series so this is nothing.
As much as she loves these books I think we'll stop at 9 because one thing I noticed across the books is the repetition.
Repetition of words and materials they used for the books. For me it's both good and bad.
Good that repetition helps with learning. Also good that even though they may use the same texture the colour might be different on some so the kids can learn the difference between the object and the texture/feeling.
On the flip side, it's bad because after a while of the same words, same textures, it gets old very quickly for me anyway. Bub doesn't seem to notice.
Being touchy feely sensory books their life span is limited to younger kids. Right now these are great for little hands to grasp, throw around and learn how to turn pages.
I reckon she's got a couple more months with these books before she'll be able to sit still and calm down long enough for an interactive story book, and I think I have just the ones...
But that's for tomorrow's blog 🤗
Those unfamiliar with these books or have been on the fence about purchasing them, I hope you found this blog helpful.
