English version

When I was a child I loved silence, solitude, the immensity of the sky and the tiny world of insects, books gave me a quiet space to dream, to immerse myself in a world different from the one around me or to learn about many different subjects. Over time I moved from reading to writing, from letting myself be seduced by the universes of other people's imagination to creating my own literary texts, shaping my own personal imaginary. I discovered the power of words, their capacity to generate stories, to generate emotions.

Poetry came later, with its bejeweled language probing the mysteries of life, the deepest emotions that needed expression. Love and its wounded wings, loneliness and its labyrinths; the fleeting, the lost found in the blank page spaces of permanence. They found in the musicality of verse, in its rhythms and pauses, shelter. The house of poetry shelters the visible and the invisible, the present and the past, the felt and the longed for, the beauty that surrounds us and the evils around us.

Writing is soul-to-soul connection. Although most of my readers may not know them, we are united by the human, the search for happiness, the pain of loss, the joys of love, the sorrows of contempt, the fear of failure, the fear of death, the strength to get up when we fall.

I cannot imagine a different life, another destiny than this love for words, for writing, this sweet sentence that has saved me from so many deep sadnesses, from so many fears that cornered me, from so many injustices that filled me with rage and frustration, from so many farewells and disappointments that made me cry without consolation. How beautiful to feel, to imagine, dear reader, that thanks to it, to my literary vocation, I can accompany other souls, now and when I am gone, and perhaps sow in them a hope, connect them with something that beats inside them, something warm and human, that they needed to wake up.
