If there's one thing in this world that fascinates me, it's makeup artistry. It's amazing what you can create. I'm always thinking about what I can do and how to create fantastic makeup. I'm not much of a conventional makeup artist and it's not that I don't like it, I admire a lot of my colleagues who create fabulous looks and make them look amazing. The thing about me is that I love transformations. I think there is something of a chameleon in my veins because my fascination with makeup artistry is rooted in what can be interpreted and what we can convey through this artistic expression.

Si hay algo en este mundo que me tiene fascinada es el maquillaje artístico. Es increíble lo que se puede crear. Siempre estoy pensando que puedo hacer y cómo crear maquillajes fantásticos. No soy mucho de crear maquillajes convencionales y no es que no me gustes, admiro a muchas compañeras que crean looks fabulosos y las hacer lucir maravillosas. Lo que sucede conmigo es que me encantan las transformaciones. Creo que hay algo de camaleón en mis venas porque mi fascinación por el maquillaje artístico se fundamenta en lo que se puede interpretar y lo que podemos transmitir a través de esta expresión artística.

I don't want to bore you with my thoughts and philosophies, but if you want to know a little more about me, you should know that I am not satisfied with the conventional, I always want to go further and give more. There is a creative universe inside me that struggles to contain itself, but I understand and respect the space that each one deserves, that's why I keep bringing my little dose of art through creative makeup to this beautiful community.

No quiero aburrirlos con mis pensamientos y filosofías, pero si desean conocer un poco más de mí, deben saber que no me conformo con lo convencional, siempre quiero ir más allá y dar más. Hay un universo creativo dentro de mi ser que lucha por contenerse, pero entiendo y respeto el espacio que cada uno se merece, por ello sigo trayendo mi pequeña dosis correspondiente de arte a través del maquillaje creativo a esta linda comunidad.

Today I share with you this makeup that is inspired by a praying mantis. An incredible creature that holds a singular attraction that not many know how to appreciate, but when you detail its structure, colors and movements you can only feel a great admiration. I leave you the step by step.

Hoy les comparto este maquillaje que está inspirado en una Mantis religiosa. Un increíble criatura que encierra un atractivo singular que no muchos saben apreciar, pero cuando detallas su estructura, colores y movimientos no puede sentir más que una gran admiración. Les dejo el paso a paso.

I applied foundation on the face and started to design the painting. I started working on the face making strokes that look like an insect, especially on the nose. I also made a stroke on the upper lip to make the mouth of the mantis and the fangs on the same lip.

Apliqué base para maquillaje en el rostro y empecé a realizar en diseño de la pintura. Empecé trabajando en el rostro realizando trazos que den aspecto de insecto, especialmente en la nariz. También realicé un trazo sobre el labio superior para hacer la boca de la mantis y los colmillos sobre el mismo labio.

Paint wings on the chest to symbolize the beautiful wings of the mantis that are almost always attached to its slender body, but when it spreads them out they are an eye-catching magenta color with black and white undertones.

Pinte alas en el pecho para simbolizar las hermosas alas de las mantis que estás casi siempre pegadas su delgado cuerpo, pero cuando las despliega son de un vistoso color magenta con negro y matices blancos.

I started the process of applying paints, specifically the darker tones giving depth with the shading technique. I worked the wings on the chest and everything in shadows or deep.

Empecé el proceso de aplicación de pinturas, específico los tonos más oscuros dando profundidad con la técnica de sombreados. Trabajé las alas en el pecho y todo lo que está en sombras o profundo.

I continued the paint job now with the brighter shades of green and worked on the wings with white paint to make the transparencies.

Continué el trabajo de pintura ahora con los tonos verdes más brillantes y trabajé en las alas con pintura blanca para hacer las transparencias.

I continued with the eye makeup by making a black pencil stroke from the beginning of the eye socket to the end and extended it under the waterline. Then I sealed it with green shadow and applied magenta shadow all over the eyelid. I applied gold shadow on the tear trough and extended it all along the waterline. I finished the lip makeup by filling in the space between the fangs and the lower lip with fuchsia.

Continué con el maquillaje de los ojos realizando un trazo con lápiz negro desde el inicio de la cuenca del ojo hasta el final y lo extendí debajo de la línea del agua. Luego lo sellé con sombra verde y apliqué sombra color magenta en todo el párpado móvil. En el lagrimal apliqué dorando y lo extendí por toda la línea del agua. Terminé el maquillaje de labios rellenando con fucsia el espacio entre los colmillos y el labio inferior.
