[ENG/ESP] Makeup without the right tools and products: a total blunder./Maquillaje sin las herramientas y productos adecuados: un total desacierto.

There are days when things are predestined to go wrong. Such is the case with this makeup. I decided to improvise a makeup...everything was going very well, and the first thing I did was my eyebrows, I was satisfied because it was the first time I applied this technique with soap and glue, I understand that they are called organic eyebrows and for the first time, I think they were acceptable. That made me very excited and I continued with the application of shadows on the fixed eyelid and everything was going very well, but when I started to apply shadows on the mobile eyelid everything became chaos and believe me, I had never felt so unhappy with something like now, but I still took the risk to publish it because I think that's what it's all about having a blog, not only write and post what is perfectly planned, but also share our mistakes and what we learn from them. The details of this makeover will let you see where it all started to go downhill, and the amazing thing about it was that it took me two hours. But as everything in life leaves us learning, I understood that you can't do things the right way without the right tools and products. So, it's my turn to invest if I want to move forward in this makeup thing.

Hay días en que las cosas están predestinadas a no salir bien. Tal es el caso de este maquillaje. Me animé a improvisar un maquillaje...todo iba muy bien, y lo primero que hice fueron mis cejas, quedé satisfecha porque era la primera vez que aplicaba ésta técnica con jabón y pegamento, entiendo que les dicen cejas orgánicas y para se la primera vez, creo que quedaron aceptables. Eso me emocionó mucho y seguí con la aplicación de sombras en el párpado fijo y todo iba muy bien, pero cuando empecé a aplicar sombras en el párpado móvil todo se volvió un caos y créanme, nunca me había sentido tan inconforme con algo como ahora, pero aún así me arriesgué a publicarlo porque creo que de eso se trata tener un blog, no solo escribir y postear lo perfectamente planificado, sino también compartir de nuestros desaciertos y lo que aprendemos de ellos. Los detalles de este maquillaje les dejarán ver dónde todo empezó a ir en picada, y lo increíble de esto fue que me tardé dos horas. Pero como todo en la vida nos deja aprendizaje, entendí que no se pueden hacer las cosas de la forma correcta sin las herramientas y productos adecuados. Así que, me toca invertir si quiero avanzar en esto del maquillaje.

I started by brushing my eyebrows with paste soap. I used a hand soap and loaded my brush with a small amount and brushed my eyebrows upwards. I then outlined them with a pencil but very lightly and then with the same pencil I drew hairs in the unpopulated areas. Now I applied the glue stick without exerting too much pressure and combed them again to place them in the desired position. I noticed that the color I had applied ran a little, so I cleaned up the eyebrow contour and outlined it with foundation. As I mentioned, so far so good.

Empecé cepillando mis cejas con jabón en pasta. Utilicé uno de tocador y cargue mi cepillo de una pequeña cantidad y cepille mis cejas hacia arriba. Luego las delineé con un lápiz pero de forma muy ligera y luego con el mismo lápiz dibuje vellos en las zonas despobladas. Ahora pase el pegamento en barra sin ejercer demasiada presión y las peine nuevamente para colocarlas en la posición deseada. Note que se corrió un poco el color que había aplicado así que limpie todo el contorno de las cejas y lo perfilé con base para maquillaje. Cómo les mencioné, hasta aquí todo bien.

I tried to contour my nose as it is a bit wide and with a droopy septum. I applied a brown pencil on the sides, a line at the eye level and around the tip. Then I blended it with a round brush and sealed it with a similar color shadow. I wasn't very satisfied because I didn't blend it well under the tip and I got an unaesthetic smudge, but that's what I realized after I had taken the pictures and washed my face.

Intenté realizar el contorno de mi nariz ya que es algo ancha y con el tabique caído. Apliqué un lápiz color marrón a los costados, un trazo a la altura de los ojos y alrededor de la punta. Luego lo difuminé con una brocha redonda y lo sellé con una sombra de color parecido. Tampoco quede muy satisfecha porque no difuminé bien debajo de la punta y me quedo una mancha poco estética, pero de esto me do cuánta después que había tomado las fotos y lavado mi cara.

After applying foundation to the eyelid I applied an orange color on the fixed eyelid in an arc and blended it upwards in lighter shades. I then wiped the underneath to make the cut. I think I missed to lift the arch a little more and apply a darker shade on the cut line. Then I applied orange, light blue and purple colors on the fixed eyelid. Here I started to feel uncomfortable because I noticed that our shadows did not pigment as I wanted, then I understood watching some tutorials on Youtube, that to get better pigmentation you should apply a white concealer and I usually use foundation even if it is light shades. But having the area of the eyelids darkened when applying the base is gray and my shadows will not give me all the splendor of its color. I then applied uniw vertical strokes to separate the colors. I had intended to do something very dramatic, but it came out wrong.

Después de aplicar base para maquillaje en el párpado aplique un color naranja en el párpado fijo realizando un arco y lo difuminé hacia arriba en tonos más claros. Luego limpie la parte de abajo para hacer el corte. Creo que me faltó levantar un poco más el arco y aplicar un tono más oscuro en la línea de corte. Después apliqué colores naranja, celeste y morado en el párpado fijo. Ya aquí empecé a sentirme incomoda porque note que nos sombras no pigmentaban cómo deseaba, luego entendí viendo unos tutoriales en Youtube, que para conseguir mejor pigmentación se debe aplicar un corrector blanco y yo normalmente uso base para maquillaje aún es de tonos claros. Pero al tener la zona de los párpados oscurecidos al aplicar la base me queda gris y mis sombras no me van a dar todo el esplendor de su color. Después apliqué uniw trazos verticales para separar los colores. Tenía la intención de hacer algo muy dramático, pero salió mal.

I applied green shadow under the lower lashes and lined the entire eye with black shadow. To give a little more appeal to the makeup I painted some small flowers at the end of the fixed eyelid and applied lipstick in bronze tone. Honestly it was not what I had in mind, however I learned a lot from this experience and I am determined to learn and invest to have more acceptable results. Apliqué sombra verde debajo de las pestañas inferiores y delineé todo el ojo con sombra negra. Para dar un poco más de atractivo al maquillaje pinte unas pequeñas flores al final del párpado fijo y apliqué labial en tono bronce. Sinceramente no era lo que tenía en mente, sin embargo aprendí mucho de esta experiencia y tengo la determinación de aprender e invertir para tener resultados más aceptables.
