[ENG/ESP] Makeup Artistry: Relief./Maquillaje Artístico: Relieve.

Today I learned something new, and this is something very good and that I recommend to all of you. When we are working on a makeup we are so focused on what we are doing that we are taking the pictures and we don't see them until we have finished w even have washed our face. At least that's my case, I look at the photos at the last moment when I sit down to edit the post content. That's when I realize the details of the makeup that I put on my face have improved. That's why I make it a point to look at the photos before I finish it. This happens because when we look in the mirror we appreciate all the details, but in the photos we tend to lose some of them and it is necessary to reinforce them. In this case, I could have done by accentuating more the white lines and give a little more depth between one stripe and another, this would have given me more relief and a more satisfactory result. Let's start with the process:

Hoy aprendí algo nuevo, y esto es algo muy bueno y que les recomiendo a todos. Cuando estamos trabajando un maquillaje estamos tan enfocados en lo que estamos haciendo que vamos tomando las fotos y no las vemos hasta que hemos terminado w incluso hemos lavado nuestra cara. Al menos ese es mis caso, miro las fotos en el último momento cuando me siento a editar el contenido de post. Es allí cuando me doy cuenta de los detalles del maquillaje que puse haber mejorado. Por eso desde ya me propongo mirar las fotos antes de darlo por terminado. Esto pasa porque cuando nos miramos al espejo apreciamos todos los detalles, pero en las fotos tienden a perderse algunos y es necesario reforzarlos. En este caso, pude hacer acentuando más las líneas blancas y dar un poco más de profundidad entre una franja y otra, esto me habría dado mayor relieve y el resultado más satisfactorio. Comencemos con el proceso:

Once my eyebrows were made up, I applied foundation on my face and neck. This foundation I have now is a little white for me, since my skin is more yellow, that's why I also applied it on my neck. After applying a little color on the cheeks I immediately moved on to the eye makeup which is simple; I applied brown shadow on the eye socket blending towards the fixed eyelid and then applied black shadow on the eye socket. At this point I started to apply highlighting makeup. What I will try to do are streaks that look like very defined scars. I applied brown shadow starting at the lower lash line.

Una vez maquillada mis cejas, apliqué base maquillaje en mi rostro y cuello. Está base que tengo ahora es un poco blanca para mi, ya que mi piel es más amarilla por eso apliqué también en el cuello. Luego de aplicar un poco de color en las mejillas pase de inmediato al maquillaje de ojos que es simple; apliqué sombra marrón en la cuenca del ojo difuminando hacia el párpado fijo y luego apliqué sombra negra en la cuenca del ojo. En este punto comencé a aplicar maquillaje en relieve. Lo que intentaré realizar son vetas que parecen cicatrices muy definidas. Apliqué sombra marrón comenzando en la líneas de las pestañas inferiores.

I made the strokes from that point down to the corner of the lips and from the eyebrows to the hairline. The design of the chin was to give continuity to the upper lines and cut it in an inward curve at the chin. I completed it with a circle on the chin.

Realicé los trazos desde ese punto hacia abajo hasta la comisura de los labios y desde las cejas hacia el nacimiento del cabello. El diseño del mentón fue dando continuidad a las líneas superiores y lo corte en una curva hacia adentro en la barbilla. Lo complete con un círculo en la misma.

With a mixture of white body makeup and a little under eye concealer I made light lines flush with the brown stripes to get volume and then with black shadow I retouched all around the edges to give a little more depth.

Con una mezcla de maquillaje corporal blanco y un poco de corrector de ojeras realicé líneas claras al ras de las las franjas marrones para conseguir volumen y luego con sombra negra Retoqué todo el los bordes para dar un poco más de profundidad.

I made up the lips outside the natural line by first lining with a cherry pencil and then applied party red lipstick all over the mouth. That's it for today. This makeup looks pretty simple but I spent a lot of time working on the details because it is not as easy to get volume as in the natural tone, ie skin color, is something I have to improve, but as a popular saying goes: "Practice makes perfect" So it's time to practice a lot. Maquillé los labios por fuera de la línea natural delineando primero con un lápiz cereza y luego apliqué labial rojo fiesta en toda la boca. Es todo por hoy. Este maquillaje aunque se ve bastante simple invertí un buen rato en trabajar los detalles ya que no es tan sencillo conseguir volumen que en el tono natural, es decir color piel, es algo que tengo que mejorar, pero como dice un dicho popular: "La práctica hace al maestro" Asi que toca practicar mucho.
