Why Is Helping People So Vital?
Helping others is crucial in this world. It is a very important part of mankind. It holds humanity together Amidst catastrophe, the stories of the people who rush to the aid of others is truly inspiring. You hear all the stories after horrific disasters of the average person helping out someone else, and it just touches your heart.
It is not only the everyday hero that helps us; it is the people that dedicate their lives to making sure we are safe. Many see the police as these people just getting in the way of us, but when we are running from attacks, they are running towards the danger. We flee burning buildings; firefighters run towards the flames. You may say, "but they're getting paid to do it." This is true, but that doesn't stop the fact that they have been training for years and have a passion for the job - the job of saving our lives.
I am describing helping others as this almighty selfless act that only true heroes can do, but this is not true. It does not have to be on this huge scale of saving lives; it could be just picking up a pencil that somebody dropped on the floor. This small gesture may be huge to somebody else.
Do not have ulterior motives when helping somebody else. You should help others to feel the thrill of helping somebody else out, not try and reap some reward.
You Form Relationships By Helping Others
If you help somebody else, they are more inclined to help you out in the future. This is an important, unspoken agreement throughout humanity. Not only would they be more inclined to help you out, but you also earn each other's trust, you bond more. You form a new or stronger relationship.
It is much easier to find help if you know that the other would do the same in return. You may not be paid back for doing your good deed, or you may not grant somebody else with help after they have helped you, but this does not matter. You should always try and help somebody else, regardless of the consequence as you will form a closer relationship and therefore, the person is more willing to do something for you.
Positive Karma
I feel like karma is portrayed in a negative light. When you think of karma, you think, 'If I do bad, bad will come for me.' What many don't realise is karma works in the other way. If you do a good deed and help somebody else out, you will be rewarded.
Karma is seen as a spiritual thing, and you might not believe in it, but regardless, change your perspective on helping others. If you are one of those people who does not see the benefit in helping others and think that it is not your duty, make it your responsibility. There is minimal risk in helping others, yet big gains.
