Hi everyone! It's time for the a weekly battle challenge, and the challenge for this week is the Prismologist.

About the Monster

Prismologist
Prismologist is an epic card with 4 Health, 2 Shield, 3 Ranged Attacked and the Blast ability. It gets the Forcefield ability at level 4 and the Silence ability at level 6. Its attack also increases to 4 Ranged attack from level 3. I'm currently using the basic level 1 version of the card.

PositionNameDescription
1Chaos KnightIt is the main tank with its Shield ability, and take some reduced damage from Melee and Ranged attacks.
2Corsair BosunThis is an important card with the Reflection Shield ability, which means it is not affected by the Blast in this ruleset. It also has a high Melee attack of 4 and has the Reach ability to attack from position 2.
3Adelade BrightwingIt's has a decent amount of health to take some Blast damage and can repair Shields so that the tanks can last longer.
4Rune CrafterIt does double damage to Monsters with Taunt ability, and with the Splinters limited to Life and Death, there's a good chance that one will appear.
5Pelacor ArbalestIt takes good advantage of the Blast in this ruleset with its Double Strike ability and 3 damage.
6PrismologistIt is a great Damage Dealer with the Blast ability, even if the ability is redundant in this ruleset.

Strategy

The Melee Mayhem ruleset meant that the opponent may use more Melee cards with high health, given the Explosive Weaponry ruleset as well. As such, most Monsters should attack the first Monster first. As such, I wanted to use a tank with Shield to reduce the damage, and Corsair Bosun in second position to neutralise Blast damage. The strategy here was also to choose Monsters with high damage to maximise the Blast damage as well.

The opponent used a deck of cards with fairly high health, with Night Ghoul in the first position and Legionnaire Alvar in the second. Luckily for me, the Night Ghoul is a slow card, and I managed to take it out before it had a chance to do any damage. Damage from Corsair Bosun, Pelacor Arbalest and Prismologist was also key in helping to win this battle, as they also provided high splash damage with the Explosive Weaponry ruleset.

Thoughts on the card

I like the Prismologist and use it as much as I can, so long that the mana cap allow it, as it has a high attack and has Blast damage. It also stands out in rulesets such as the Equal Opportunity and Close Range.
