Greetings to all. Today I am joining this weekend initiative thanks to the invitation of my friend @brujita18. For all those who wish to participate, you can do it through this link, and the proposal is entitled: Weekend-Engagement topics: WEEK 180. I would like to read the participations of
@rosam10 and
@actioncats.
My writing is about the smallest of the kittens in my pack, Lupe. It makes you laugh to know that he has many names, we call him José Guadalupe, Guadalupe Antonio, Lupito and stop counting. His arrival in our lives dates back to the year before the pandemic, November 2019, so our spoiled one is exactly 4 years old.
At that time, my daughter lived in the upper part of a house, and the stairs of that room faced the street, and were protected by a fence. One morning, as she was leaving the apartment, she was surprised by the meowing of a small kitten, and when she went downstairs, she found a little black and white ball on the first step, which was not more than two months old. It was tiny, couldn't even go up or down the step, and was crying very softly. The deduction was that they were taken from the mother and distributed among several houses, since after a few months there were several of the same size jumping around the urbanism.
My daughter took the kitten and brought it inside, fed it, and left it lying in a basket. She went out to run errands thinking of giving him up for adoption, but his sweetness was so great that she caught it and adopted him herself. And so this spoiled baby grew up among the pampering of friends and family. Especially me, who became a grandmother and surrogate mom when my daughter had to move to another apartment where animals were not accepted.
That way, Lupe stayed at home with me in the company of the rest of my pack. With my beautiful Piero who went to heaven a few months ago, he never got along well, but with Lucky he is closer, they even sleep together and sometimes it is too funny to see the position he adopts to sleep, on the furniture almost about to fall, or on top of the other kitten, for him the important thing is to be comfortable.
My bed is no longer my bed, it is his personal space, or gatonal. There he does his cleaning ritual, and relaxes on the pillows. But not to mention the rainy days when he goes out to play in the garden and arrives in a mess, his face is almost always waterlogged. And if it's not the rain and the puddles, it's playing under the neighbor's car that has a grease pot and there it gets worse, so he gets a bath to more or less see him white again.
If he sees the little kitchen window open, he peeks through there and starts getting into mischief by climbing in and out through the bars. I really enjoy watching his antics, and all of us together. With Snoopy, who is the only puppy left in the pack, he doesn't have a good relationship, and although the puppy doesn't mistreat him, he does tease him, barks at him, circles around him, and Lupe doesn't even move, but if he comes close to sniff him, he throws his paw at him and I have to bring him somewhere else because he can hurt his little nose. When the power goes out and I open the door, Lupe stands in front of it and denies him access to the house, and Snoopy starts barking as if to make me come and help him, hahaha. They are like children.
One of the anecdotes that has already been captured, was that to rescue him when he was just breastfeeding, he looked for my daughter's finger to suckle as if it was his mommy's titty, and that habit could never be removed. Nowadays he fights for his little finger at bedtime and we have to give it to him because if not, he starts a concert in front of us that drives us crazy. But how not to do it, if he is such a sweetheart.
