Water that never makes us bored.
My feet lightly to step foot stopped in the lagoons. There are lots of space lagoons scattered in the city of Banda Aceh. Yeeep, I will still tell you about the moments of my trip to the city where my brother lives, in November.
This time I'm not just to just visit a place that is part of the child of the ocean. An interesting thing is the place in the lagoon. You could say it's a fairly new cafe, so it's still in great demand by people.
Fun is not it? We can enjoy a cup of our favorite drink while looking broadly ahead, towards the lagoon, or, the vast ocean, and even the lake. Places built by the sea, lagoons, or lakes do have a strong appeal. Except for people who have a phobia of water in a wide and deep places.
Without much effort, actually the places on the edge of the locations that I mentioned earlier are quite interesting. It's important that they have good food, and that they can manage the cleanliness of the place around and well. So, let's take a look at a place on the edge of the lagoon called ”Terrace Laguna”
I arrived at ”Terrace Laguna” with my partner just by following the instructions from google maps. Luckily, we didn't get lost. Oh, thanks to today's technology! When we arrived at this location, it was quite crowded. Then I realized that when we visited it was Saturday. Oops, my bad!
Saturday, plus we visited the place before sunset time. It was definitely the rush hour of the cafe. But that's no big deal. It turns out that ”Terrace Laguna” has a very large location. They provide many seating spots which they layer from one spot to another. Like the rice fields in the Bali area that look layered.
I admit that ”Terrace Laguna” is quite brilliant in utilizing an effective spot for seating customers. All spots have a lagoon viewpoint that won't make visitors regret it.
I got a seat location which I think is a good spot. I can see a beautiful future. As far as my eyes could see, filled with calming bluish-green water. With a slight vibration of the water that brings the natural sounds of nature and blends with the slight sound of the wind.
Before sunset time which is quite bright, and sometimes foggy. So the sky looks not completely bright. I love those views!
By the way, ”Terrace Laguna” also has an indoor space. So just in case it rains, we can move to the inner area to save ourselves from the rain. The indoor area is also used for ordering food. (we have to order and pay at one time in the cashier area).
We can see that the indoor area is a building similar to a terraced house. They apply many accessories that are usually used in houses on the beach. Elements of natural stone, as well as wood, are the most dominant materials in the indoor area ”Terrace Laguna”.
Most of the menus here are western food, not Indonesian food. That's because the owner of this cafe is a westerner. I also chose “chicken steak”. For drinks, I chose “lemonade coffee”.
There is a tool like a bell that is given to visitors after visitors pay for orders. So a tool will sound when the order is ready to be served. We have to take our own order at the cashier area.
Their presentation medium is quite unique. They don't use breakable containers. For my order, they use a wooden tray for chicken steak. Meanwhile, I used a plastic cup for my lemonade coffee. For beverage containers, this is for the reason that it is easier to carry if we want to move places.
Chicken Steak
My chicken steak menu is served on a wooden tray. There are two types of sauce provided. Chili sauce, and cheese sauce. So, how about the taste? I don't really like the taste. Just good, but not that great, and won't make it to my favorite food list. The texture of the chicken is too dry. Also, the sauce tasted like just packaged sauce which tasted just “in general”.
For the price, I paid IDR 40,000 / USD 2.85. If it wasn't served in a place as good as this lagoon, I would definitely label this food as expensive food. But for this place, I forgive the taste of this food. Just because I like the view from ”Terrace Laguna”.
Lemonade Coffee
There is always a good side to everything that we don't really like. Such as my order at that time. I really don't like the taste of the food served by ”Terrace Laguna”. But the good side is they serve good coffee.
The lemonade coffee I ordered made me happy. At least I can remember ”Terrace Laguna” as a place to drink good coffee. I'm not disappointed at all. A balanced blend of lemonade and coffee. The scent of lemon and coffee complement each other. And the cold drink version of making lemonade coffee that I ordered that time was very refreshing.
For the price, I paid IDR 20,000 / USD 1.43. It's cheap for the overall taste of coffee which I like. A recommended coffee menu from ”Terrace Laguna”.
In addition to enjoying food/drinks and beautiful and relaxing views, we can take a boat provided at this place. I don't know if it's free or paid because I didn't get to try the boat. But even if it pays a fee for it, I'd be happy to give it a try some other time.
I came home when it was almost dark. It was not clear when the sun set because the sky was cloudy. Overall, I was very happy that day. It feels like I don't need anything else. It felt perfect at that time, and next to my partner with his warm hands, also his arms that were ready to embrace me.
A memory about ”Terrace Laguna” that I will always remember. With a beautiful lagoon view. Also delicious coffee.
