Early Harvest Bokchoi

Plants that are harvested aren't planted overnight. This means they have time to grow and develop before they can finally be harvested.

I have bokchoi plants that aren't even 30 days old. Usually, bokchoi is harvested 30 days after planting.

Different seedlings naturally have different plant characteristics. This time, I planted bokchoi with the Nauli F1 variety. With this variety, I hope the bokchoi will have large, dense stems and broad leaves.

Bokchoi farmers in my area usually use this type of bokchoi. So I tried planting it in my garden.

I was pleasantly surprised by the results of the bokchoi I ​​planted! It hadn't even been 30 days. I hadn't even had time to apply manure. Look at these beautiful bokchoi!

I planted bokchoi in various containers. Some in polybags, some in used mineral water gallon containers, and some in small pots.

Even with different planting containers, these bok choy plants are nearly uniform in shape and size. Wow! That's great.

It's still about 20 days after planting. It turns out these bok choy can be harvested early. We can harvest them repeatedly.

To harvest repeatedly, don't completely prune the main stem near the root. The most important thing is to harvest only the bottom leaves of the bok choy. Do this for the bottom 2-4 leaves of the bok choy. Harvesting can be done once a week.

However, as the bok choy plants get older, more leaves can be harvested. They can be harvested twice a week. Although it may seem small and isn't planted in a large area, this bok choy can meet the family's vegetable needs. It doesn't run out because it sprouts new leaves quickly.

If we want to share or sell bok choy, we can harvest all the leaves by cutting the main stem near the root. However, this method will prevent us from harvesting more bok choy from the same plant because we've already cut the main stem.

Wow, I have an abundance of bok choy in my mini garden. Even though it's the dry season, they're easy to care for. You just have to regularly check for caterpillars in the center of the plant's main shoots. Check for caterpillars in the morning and evening while watering the plants.

Especially when the bok choy leaves are abundant, the caterpillars will quickly pick up on the signal of tasty food, hehe. So, don't forget to check for caterpillars. I often find caterpillars while watering! If we catch them early, it can save our plants!
