My publication has been a hermeneutic exercise to understand my journey through the Christmas season. Tears of gratitude and happiness for having grown and matured with my loved ones; for this reason, the emotional production has touches of memories. I decide to publish for reconciliation, renewal and inner peace in honor of my parents.

The legacy that projects the tradition I celebrate is my family's heritage. The memories of my parents during Christmas caress me; every preparation is important to preserve the spirit. The festivity makes sense; there are reasons for everything to be beautiful; it is required to embellish, perfume, taste and listen, all the components that emanate from family love. The feeling embraces the group of people that united form a unique family, lit by rituals that give the warm atmosphere of the Christmas and New Year's tradition.

In my own way, I represent the customs of my parents. Beautifying the home, painting and arranging the corners are the basis for the tree to stand out. My head is controlled by the memory of my parents; I direct so that everything works, while I emulate the form so that my family understands how I wish to arrange my family shelter, and in each decision I perceive my loved ones nearby; only I can see them.

Mom and Dad, I do everything I can to keep the tradition of the Christmas season at home. The home is perfumed with alpaca stew, ham bread, salad and Christmas dessert. The granddaughter begins to participate with greater awareness and is part of the teamwork. The family union teaches to learn customs and techniques that avoid losing the tradition. My face shows a big smile when I see Amanda enjoying preparing the alpacas, which she likes so much. Such an episode makes the lump in my throat when I hear my parents' voice whispering.

I know I must continue, and the rest of the days I am busy not to cry, but to make Christmas come true as we like it. Dressing the little girl is the illusion that keeps the family together. Amanda decides that red should represent all of us; that made me think of you again when the color made us come closer together.

There are other rituals that bring the family together: listening to Venezuelan music, which revives happiness and at the same time makes me sigh. Singing in a group and celebrating with a toast because there are reasons to celebrate and honor those who left us memories that are the basis of our happiness.

Playing with pyrotechnic lights under the protection of an adult. Sparklers and crackling lights, I no longer enjoy it; however, Amanda promotes joy and recreates a lot of laughter for all the tradition she offers. The family out in the open allows Santa to visit the tree, with no one around and waiting to hear the onomatopoeia. The gifts under the tree arm themselves with patience. I can't help on this special day to receive the flood of images of my old folks smiling as they open the presents, so we were able to capture the moment.

I'm not sure that on the last day of December, just a few hours before saying goodbye to the year, I have the strength not to cry, but I am weak. Now I understand how sensitive some loved ones are to this date. I promise you, parents, that I also keep the practice of saying goodbye to the year by thanking and recording the embrace among family members, because we will always be united through memorable bonds of values that instill the spirit of Christmas: love, union, generosity and tolerance.
