These days I have been trying to cleanse my mind, soul and body in the most diverse ways that my awareness and self-knowledge have allowed me. I have tried several methods that I have seen and followed at the foot of the literature that talks about how and when to do things to improve on a daily basis. I want my life to be full but full of purpose, and what has worked best for me up to this point in my life is to carry out the philosophy of minimalism: having less to achieve more in my life. It's practicing detachment from the material, the best way to know myself. Being surrounded by less stuff helps me to know my body and soul in the peace and tranquility of low consumerism.
With fewer objects in my surroundings occupying the physical space of my home and my rooms, it gives me more clarity, but to get to that point of clarity I had and spent a lot of work trying to let go of things I didn't really need. Now that I have fewer objects, I have more space for my thoughts. I thought I was going to feel the opposite, that getting rid of my belongings would make me feel emptier, but in the blink of an eye it was the opposite: I felt fuller than ever and I was, for a moment, more joyful and happy with myself.
I often believed that I needed things to be happy, and it was a lie I told myself. They were false needs. I was convinced that I needed something, but it was the opposite. I had ornaments and objects that didn't add anything to my life, they just took up space, and it was rare or almost never when I used them. Little by little I gave them away to friends and some family members.

Something that still surprises me to this day is that sometimes I see things in the markets or on the internet, and I instantly want them, and if I could I would buy them. But I close my eyes and start thinking: do I really need this, is that what will make me happy? I take a deep breath and say to myself: NO! I can be happy without any of it. It is only up to me to be happy, not up to the objects I own.
Everything changes, we change and so do our needs. Maybe today we don't need something, but tomorrow we will. Accepting minimalism is not giving up objects and possessions, it is knowing what we need and what we don't need, what will make us truly happy and what will be a burden.
There is a minimalism that we must also know how to understand, which is the minimalism of feelings and emotions. This makes us change concepts such as success, which many times we have a maximalist concept of that word, but in truth success does not have to be the accumulation of a large number of achievements. Just one that is worth enough for us, that is success in itself.
Today I want my life with simple things and uncomplicated emotions, with the satisfaction of moments of tranquility and full attention, of sincere talks and aimless walks, small moments that make us happy... minimalism of the unrepeatable. That is why today I live without much, but I have what I need. EVEN SO, I WANT TO KEEP WORKING ON MYSELF AND ON PRACTICING GRATITUDE. I wait less to be surprised by the results. If I want to accumulate something, I want it to be full life experiences. So I look everywhere for my focus and purpose, who I am and who I will be. Along the way I make and will make mistakes, but I will not give up. Every step in my life is untethered, minimalist and light, it is not taking things away, it is choosing to have less, discovering what is truly fulfilling. Living with little is, in reality, living with what is necessary.
