The Strength of a Team Lies in Its Positioning — A Brilliant Victory With Limited Cards
Sometimes you do not have the best choices for monster selection in a battle. You may not have many good cards because of the rulesets. But because you position your monsters correctly those same monsters can fight extremely well for you in the battle. They will make the best use of their abilities if you position them correctly.
Of course positioning especially correct positioning is an important part of a battle that can turn your lost battle into a victory. Just like what happened in todays battle.
I did not have very good cards in my deck according to these rulesets but I spent quite a lot of time selecting and positioning my monsters. My monster selection did not change much but because of excellent positioning I achieved a very good victory in this battle.
Today's 32 mana battle was very good and interesting especially because of the two rulesets where one ruleset had a very strict restriction. We were only allowed to summon armored units. Apart from that all units that do not have armor would be disabled.
Before moving towards the battle strategy and battlefield it is important to understand which two rulesets appeared and what strategy and plan I adopted according to them.
Ruleset 1: FEROCITY
According to this ruleset all units whether they belong to the allied team or the enemy team receive the Fury ability. According to this ability if the target has the Taunt ability it will receive double damage.
Let's understand this with an example. For example the enemy unit has selected a monster with the Taunt ability. Now if any unit attacks that monster with the Taunt ability it will deal double damage instead of single damage and cause heavy damage.
According to this ruleset you should adopt a strategy in which you should avoid selecting monsters with the Taunt ability because if you select them there is a much higher chance that they will receive double damage.
Ruleset 2: HEAVY METAL
This is the ruleset where we saw a strict restriction. In this ruleset you are only allowed to summon armored units.
If your deck has excellent attackers strikers and monsters with good health but without armor they will be disabled. So you can only select monsters that have armor. This certainly creates quite a lot of difficulties when selecting monsters in such battles.
But because I had armored units in my deck I did not struggle much with this ruleset.
STRATEGY AND MONSTER SELECTION ACCORDING TO THESE RULESETS
Let's see what strategy I adopted according to these two rulesets and which monsters I selected.
I selected my Arkon monster with the monster that has the +1 Armor ability. This means that at the beginning of the battle the armor of all my units will increase by +1. The same thing happened on the enemy's side as well. My opponent also selected his Arkon monster with the +1 Armor ability.
I positioned a strong tank monster on my frontline. This would allow it to perform melee strikes while also creating a strong defensive line that could continuously absorb damage.
In the second position I placed another melee attacker with good armor and health. My plan was that if my frontline monster was destroyed the second monster would provide defense to my remaining units.
In the third position I selected a strong ranged striker who continuously attacked in every round and dealt heavy damage.
Finally I selected another melee attacker so that my backline would also remain strong.
ON THE BATTLEFIELD
When I looked at my units and the enemy's units on the battlefield they were quite similar and we could see a very good battle taking place. But the biggest decision made by both teams was the positioning of the monsters.
My monster positioning was excellent and with a good combination we could see heavy strikes from both sides.
From Round 1 to Round 2 heavy strikes were seen from both sides. As soon as Round 3 started one of my units and one enemy unit were eliminated. At this point the competition became 3 versus 3.
As soon as Round 4 started I noticed that my units were continuously striking very effectively. As a result another enemy monster was eliminated in Round 4 and the competition became 2 versus 3.
By Round 5 the battle had become completely one-sided. Three of my monsters were still alive while only one enemy unit remained.
At the end of Round 6 the enemy's last remaining unit was also eliminated. In this way I achieved a very good victory.
I would say that the main reason behind my victory in this battle was the excellent positioning of my monsters. Because of this I got a good combination and managed to win the battle.
What would your strategy be with these types of rulesets and which monsters would you prefer to select? will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
