To win any battle the combination of monsters plays a very important role. Where your fifty percent win depends on your rule set and strategy that you understand the rule set properly and plan a good strategy then the other fifty percent depends on your monster combination.
Today I played an interesting 20 low mana battle which consisted of only four rounds. In low mana battles you often get the chance to select fewer monsters where you also get to play fewer rounds and the decision of the battle happens very quickly.
In low mana battles there is often also confusion that if you have a low mana cost then you get a limitation that you can select only a few of your good monster cards. And especially when a rule set comes with restrictions then it creates more difficulties for you.
But if you understand that rule set properly and make a good monster combination properly then you can easily win low mana battles.
In this battle I chose such a powerful combination which proved to be absolutely perfect where I chose a very good melee combination of New Aegis and Chaos FurryBringer and because of this I got an excellent victory.
So lets see which combination I adapted and on the basis of which rule set I selected my monsters.
In this 20 Mana battle there was only one rule set to see which was called Fire & Regret.
What happens in Fire & Regret is that all units whether they are from the allied team or enemy units all of them get the Fire Return Fire ability. And what this does is that it returns 50% of ranged damage back to the attacker and that too in rounded-up form.
For example if a ranged attacker hits then 50 percent of its damage is returned back to it and that too in rounded up form.
If we see that a ranged attacker has a power of 3 and it attacks the enemy units then 50% of its damage rounded up +2 damage is returned back to itself. This is called Fire & Regret.
And in this rule set the strategy that should be followed is that you should totally neglect ranged attackers.
Now if you have good melee and magic attackers then you will get a good grip in this battle. But if you have more ranged attackers in your deck then according to this rule set it will be a negative point for you.
According to this rule set my strategy and plan was that I kept my focus totally on melee attackers and kept an aggressive stance.
First of all I selected my Archon monster with the +1 Speed ability so that my melee attackers would get speed. And what happens because of this is that they will keep attacking the enemy units quickly and deal heavy damage.
I selected the New Aegis monster on the frontline which is considered a strong tank monster. It has three Armor and five Health along with plus one melee attack power.
And my second monster was Chaos FurryBringer which has the Reach ability. This means that if you place it in the second position it will still attack which proved to be a plus point for me.
While if we look at the strategy and lineup of the enemy unit it had a strong defensive lineup and an aggressive stance. Meaning it was not in full aggressive mode.
The battle started very well and lasted for only four rounds. In the beginning there were heavy attacks from both sides but because my attackers had more power I destroyed its frontline and then in the same way I also destroyed its secondary unit. And in this way I got the victory in the battle.
So friends this is what it means to understand the rule set properly and position the monsters correctly under a specific combination.
How did you guys like my combination? In this type of rule set what would your strategy be and which monsters would you give more preference to? will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
