Well, it’s been four days since I fell down the stairs, and even though it makes me laugh now to remember how I tumbled down the stairs looking like a trash bag, I’m still feeling the aftereffects of that day. I can’t show you the horrible bruises I have because they’re on my buttocks, and obviously I’m not going to show that, but to give you an idea, it took me two days to be able to sit properly. The pain there was terrible; hard lumps formed wherever I hit my butt. Over the days, the swelling has gone down and it hurts less, although the pain hasn’t completely gone away yet, and neither have the bruises.
I woke up today in a lot of pain, as if I’d just fallen last night. The discomfort is back, but this time it’s really intense all over my body—my back, buttocks, legs, feet, and neck all hurt. It’s pretty severe muscle pain, and my feet were swollen too. Luckily, I feel a little better after soaking them in warm salt water, but today has really been an exhausting day.
After the hot water, I applied this cream—by the way, tomorrow I’m going to buy another one to massage my whole body with; these kinds of creams are menthol-based and really help relax the muscles. And well, I won’t deny that maybe I haven’t fully recovered because I haven’t rested 100%—as soon as I felt a little better, I started pushing myself and doing other things I had pending; that was my mistake.
The painkillers have really helped with the swelling and pain; in my case, I took ibuprofen. I hope to keep getting better and put this horrible experience completely behind me. I’ve become a little afraid of stairs, so now I go down very slowly and carefully.
