Realism and fantasy

Saludos a toda la comunidad, hoy les mostrare y explicare un poco sobre el proceso de este dibujo que me tomo bastantes días en terminar y que realmente me enamoro, para este dibujo tome referencias, la referencia nro 1 es la fotografía de una chica de Pinterest que dejare aquí abajo, la segunda referencia e inspiración es pintar con una técnica que vi hace tiempo de la artista Elena sai, en esta técnica ella toma fotos de referencias y toma la paleta de colores de la fotografía y los va aplicando según la composición, en donde iría la luz y la sombra, este fue mi caso, es una técnica que hace mucho no aplicaba por que evidentemente es muy complicado poder lograr un resultado “realista” en un dibujo tanto digital como físico, así que me tome el tiempo necesario para crear esta obra que será parte de una colección espero que de 4 obras mas que estaré haciendo estos próximos días, aplicando realismo y algo de surrealismo o fantasía en ellas, incluyendo flores o plumas, es un proyecto que estoy haciendo con el fin de lanzar esta colección en una pagina NFT en la que hace mucho tiempo quería entrar y ya soy parte de ella, por eso me esfuerzo en estas últimas obras para entregar y compartir trabajos de calidad, a diferencia de la imagen original cambie el tamaño de sus ojos y algunos rasgos que no son exactamente iguales, también cambie su ropa, manteniendo el color ya que me gusta mucho el contraste de ese tono con su cabello, las flores y hojas que pinte cerca de su ojo quizás fueron lo más difíciles ya que no sabia bien que tono usar, elegí ir por colores desaturados que hicieran armonía con toda la ilustración, espero que les guste el proceso y el resultado final.

Greetings to the whole community, today I will show you and explain a little about the process of this drawing that took me several days to finish and that I really fell in love with, for this drawing take references, reference number 1 is the photograph of a girl from Pinterest What I will leave here below, the second reference and inspiration is to paint with a technique that I saw long ago from the artist Elena Sai, in this technique she takes photos of references and takes the color palette of the photograph and applies them according to the composition, where would the light and shadow go, this was my case, it is a technique that I had not applied for a long time because obviously it is very complicated to be able to achieve a "realistic" result in both a digital and physical drawing, so I took the necessary time to create this work that will be part of a collection I hope that 4 more works that I will be doing these next few days, applying realism and some surrealism or fantasy in them, including flowers or feathers, is a project that I am doing in order to launch this collection on an NFT page that I wanted to enter for a long time and I am already part of it, that is why I make an effort in these last works to deliver and share quality works, unlike the original image I changed the size of his eyes and some features that are not exactly the same, I also changed his clothes, keeping the color since I really like the contrast of that tone with his hair, the flowers and leaves that I painted near his eye were perhaps what more difficult since I didn't know what tone to use, I chose to go for desaturated colors that would harmonize with the whole illustration, I hope you like the process and the final result.

Comenzamos con el boceto el cual fui arreglando hasta tener un boceto donde podría dibujar tranquilamente, esta parte del boceto es importante para cambiar esos rasgos que quería resaltar, por ejemplo sus ojos que son mas grandes que los originales de la fotografía, continue con la boca que es un poco mas gruesa y carnosa ya que me encanta los labios asi, dibujo algunas líneas en el rostro como guías para saber dónde iría la sombra, comenzamos a pintar sustrayendo algunos colores de la foto original y asi crear esta paleta, en mi caso use esos tonos pero bajando un poco la saturación de estos para que se viese mas opaco y tener un ambiente un poco mas melancólico, puse cada tono en su lugar solo para delimitar donde iría cada uno de ellos, sin darle mucho detalle, una vez que estaban ubicados estos colores, comencé a darle los detalles por partes.

We started with the sketch which I was fixing until I had a sketch where I could draw calmly, this part of the sketch is important to change those features that I wanted to highlight, for example her eyes that are bigger than the original ones in the photograph, continue with the mouth which is a little thicker and fleshier since I love lips like that, I draw some lines on the face as guides to know where the shadow would go, we start painting by subtracting some colors from the original photo and thus create this palette, in my case use those tones but lowering their saturation a bit so that they look more opaque and have a slightly more melancholic atmosphere, I put each tone in its place just to delimit where each one of them would go, without giving much detail, once these colors were located, I began to give the details in parts.

Para este punto decidí quitar el boceto y seguir trabajando sin el, pintando parte por parte, comenzando por los ojos, luego los parpados, la frente, las mejillas, la barbilla, finalmente la nariz y los labios que en mi opinión son lo más difíciles de moldear, asi pase toda una noche dándole forma a este rostro y al día siguiente continue con su vestido, usando sombras y luces para hacer algunos pliegues en su vestido verde, continue con su cabello, ya a este punto esta demás decir que fue difícil, jajaja de verdad todo fue difícil creo que ya no se que fue peor, en fin… su cabello lo hice con el mismo pincel que use para todo el dibujo que fue el pincel difuso, creo que este pincel da una textura bastante buena y si le cambias el tamaño puedes tener unos resultados increíbles, entonces si, dibuje pelo por pelo cada cabello variando el color, la luz, la sombra y el tamaño del pincel para crear estos pequeños pelitos que rozan con su frente y cada cabello que esta en su cabeza, algunas partes sin tantos detalles porque al fin y al cabo el cabello tampoco se ve tan definido en la vida real.

For this point I decided to remove the sketch and continue working without it, painting part by part, starting with the eyes, then the eyelids, the forehead, the cheeks, the chin, finally the nose and the lips, which in my opinion are the most difficult. of molding, so I spent a whole night shaping this face and the next day I continued with her dress, using shadows and lights to make some folds in her green dress, continue with her hair, at this point it goes without saying that it was difficult hahaha really everything was difficult I think I don't know what was worse, anyway... I did her hair with the same brush I used for the whole drawing which was the diffuse brush, I think this brush gives a pretty good texture and yes you change the size you can have incredible results, so yes, draw each hair hair by hair varying the color, the light, the shadow and the size of the brush to create these little hairs that brush against your forehead and each hair that is on your head, some parts without so many details because after all the hair does not look so defined in real life either.

Ahora hay que pintar estas flores, primero las había pintado de colores vivos y termine borrándolo porque no se veía bien, además que utilice un pincel muy fuerte y plano, así fue como perdí 3 horas para simplemente terminar borrando las flores y empezar de cero jaja, así que elegí colores mas suaves, continue con mi pincel difuso y use un pincel de hojas para pintarlas como si volaran de estos pétalos y hojas que dibuje, también pinte unas plumas de pavorreal, cuando estos detalles estaban listos solo arregle pequeñas cosas que necesitaban ajustes, finalice dándole mas profundidad en los ojos y un poco mas de desaturación.

Now we have to paint these flowers, first I had painted them in bright colors and I ended up erasing it because it didn't look good, plus I used a very strong and flat brush, that's how I lost 3 hours to just end up erasing the flowers and start from scratch haha , so I chose softer colors, continue with my soft brush and use a leaf brush to paint them as if they were flying from these petals and leaves that I drew, I also painted some peacock feathers, when these details were ready I just fixed small things that they needed adjustments, finish by giving the eyes more depth and a little more desaturation.
