Poster #2: Glamrock Freddy

Hola amigos, buenas noches. Desde hace semanas tenia esta tarea pendiente ya que mi hijo me pidió un poster de FNAF, me gusto mucho la idea porque desde diciembre descubrimos FNAF Security Breach y nos ha encantado ese juego, puedo decir que es mi favorito de la saga de FNAF, la estética, los colores, la historia, las misiones, absolutamente todo me encanta, asi que mi hijo estuvo de acuerdo en que seria de ese juego y el eligió a su personaje favorito que es Freddy, aunque no les voy a negar que estaba ansiosa por que pidiera a Chica, pero nop… jajaja

Hi everyone, good evening.
I’ve had this project on my to-do list for weeks now, ever since my son asked me for an FNAF poster. I really liked the idea because back in December we discovered FNAF: Security Breach and we’ve loved that game ever since. I can say it’s my favorite in the FNAF series—the art style, the colors, the story, the missions—I love absolutely everything about it, so my son agreed it should be from that game, and he chose his favorite character, which is Freddy—though I won’t deny that I was hoping he’d ask for Chica, but nope… hahaha.

Aunque no es una tarea facil me hace muy feliz poder hacer estas cosas por mi hijo y además que me gusta mucho este juego, para mí se vuelve una tarea bastante entretenida. Hice el boceto que sinceramente no recuerdo de donde saque la imagen, pero es una bastante popular y la más común de freddy, guiándome por esa foto hice el boceto en una hoja, luego calque el boceto en otra hoja donde empezaría a trabajar mejor los detalles y hacer un acabado limpio para luego empezar a pintar. Comencé delineando todo el dibujo con marcador negro para asi luego borrar cualquier rastro de lapiz sin preocupaciones, luego comencé a colorear las partes azules de freddy.

Although it’s not an easy task, it makes me very happy to be able to do these things for my son, and since I really like this game, it ends up being quite an enjoyable project for me. I made the sketch—honestly, I don’t remember where I got the image from, but it’s a pretty popular one and the most common version of Freddy. Using that photo as a guide, I sketched it out on a sheet of paper, then traced the sketch onto another sheet where I could work out the details better and create a clean finish before starting to color. I started by outlining the entire drawing with a black marker so I could later erase any pencil marks without worry, then I began coloring the blue parts of Freddy.

Poco a poco fui pintando cada parte de Freddy usando marcadores acrílicos, colores de madera e incluso pintura al frio, realmente fue bastante complicado terminarlo, tuve que cambiar el color de freddy 2 veces ya que la foto que use de referencia su piel se veía marrón clara pero luego buscando mas fotos de el, note que se veía mas bien de un tono naranja, fue bastante estresante pero lo logre, además pinte varios detalles de luces para darle mas vida y volumen, el fondo originalmente iba a ser oscuro pero no conseguí una pintura negra, termine haciendo una mezcla de tonos lila y rosa, mis marcadores estaban dejándome a mitad de camino pero logre exprimirlos al máximo, necesito comprar nuevos marcadores para poder hacer mas de estos trabajos que me gustan tanto.

Little by little, I painted each part of Freddy using acrylic markers, wood stains, and even cold-weather paint. It was actually quite difficult to finish; I had to change Freddy’s color twice because in the reference photo I used, his skin looked light brown, but then, after looking at more photos of him, I noticed it actually had more of an orange tone. It was pretty stressful, but I managed to pull it off. I also painted in several highlights to give him more life and depth. The background was originally supposed to be dark, but I couldn’t find any black paint, so I ended up mixing shades of lilac and pink. My markers were running out halfway through, but I managed to squeeze every last drop out of them. I need to buy new markers so I can do more of these projects that I love so much.

Nos gustó mucho el resultado aunque me encantaría darle una capa con alg0o que haga que los colores se vean mas intensos y brillantes pero no se con que podría hacerlo sin dañar el dibujo o la hoja, aun asi quiero hacer a chica o Monty, me encanta la estética de esos personajes, quizás pronto me anime a hacerlo.

We really liked the result, although I’d love to add a coat of something that makes the colors look more intense and vibrant—but I’m not sure what I could use without damaging the drawing or the paper. Even so, I want to draw the girl or Monty; I love the look of those characters, so maybe I’ll get around to it soon.
