Hace unas semanas les comenté sobre una planta que creí en mi maceta de la nada, estaba bastante emocionada ya que Google me dijo que era una planta de pimentón, tenia la certeza de que asi era a pesar de no saber nada sobre plantas, mi planta creció rápido, muy pero muy rápido, incluso empezó a florecer y me emocioné tanto de verla cada día más hermosa. Pero justamente cuando floreció me entro la curiosidad y quise confirmar nuevamente lo que había investigado antes, quería saber si las plantas de pimientos florecen y saber en que fase estaba mi planta.
A few weeks ago, I told you about a plant that I grew in my pot out of nowhere. I was pretty excited because Google told me it was a bell pepper plant, and I was certain that was the case even though I didn’t know anything about plants. My plant grew fast—really, really fast—and as soon as it started to bloom, I got so excited to see it getting more beautiful every day. But just as it bloomed, I got curious and wanted to double-check what I’d looked up before. I wanted to know if pepper plants actually bloom and what stage my plant was in.
Estas flores fueron decisivas para saber que no era una planta de pimentón. Según Google esta planta era hierba mora… Una planta venenosa jajaja… Me sentí estafada y decepcionada pero no perdí la esperanza, continue cuidando mi planta y cada día estaba mas grande y hermosa, dentro de mi aun quedaba esa pizca de esperanza de que fuese de pimentón y espere a ver si daba frutos.
These flowers were the key to realizing it wasn’t a bell pepper plant. According to Google, it was a black nightshade… A poisonous plant, ha ha ha… I felt cheated and disappointed, but I didn’t lose hope. I kept caring for my plant, and every day it grew bigger and more beautiful. Deep down, I still held onto that tiny glimmer of hope that it might be a bell pepper plant, so I waited to see if it would bear fruit.
Y a pesar de ser optimista llego el día en que comenzó a crecer algo cerca de las flores, y efectivamente eran hierba mora. Según Google al principio son pequeñas bolitas verdes y cuando estan maduras se ponen de un color morado oscuro. Investigue un poco para saber como llego esa planta a mi maceta y lo mas probable es que fue un pajarito que dejo la semilla en mi maceta y de ahí empezó a crecer esta planta. Muy decepcionada tome una decisión definitiva, yo quería mi planta de pimentón y además no quiero una planta venenosa que puedo ser un riesgo para mi hijo y mi gato.
And despite being optimistic, the day came when something started growing near the flowers, and sure enough, it was black nightshade. According to Google, they start as small green berries and turn dark purple when ripe. I did some research to find out how the plant got into my pot, and it's most likely that a bird left a seed there, and from there it started to grow. Very disappointed, I made a final decision: I wanted my bell pepper plant, and besides, I didn't want a poisonous plant that could be a risk to my son and my cat.
Le puse fin a esta planta, aquella planta que cuide por semanas, la arranque de raíz para evitar su crecimiento nuevamente, al día siguiente sembré semillas de pimentón y aun estoy esperando a ver si con el tiempo podre tener mi planta de pimentón real
I finally got rid of this plant, the one I'd cared for for weeks. I pulled it out by the roots to prevent it from growing back. The next day I planted bell pepper seeds and I'm still waiting to see if, with time, I'll be able to grow my own real bell pepper plant.
