El Clásico is merengue
Yesterday the EA Sports League Classic between Real Madrid and Barcelona took place from the Spotify Camp Nou, where the merengue team led by Kylian Mbappé who defeated Barça with a double and took three vital points to stay in the fight for the leadership of the League
It all started from the lineup, where José Mourinho took out a Tchouameni-Bernardo double pivot and placed Fede Valverde on the right side to cover Gordon's constant rises, since Cucurella had Lamine Yamal in his pocket for the entire game. As expected, the Portuguese coach, faithful to his style, played a more than even game, blocking all ball circulation from the Blaugrana team through Rodri and Pedri, who were not very comfortable with the ball in the first half. Of course, a lot of credit must also be given to Ukrainian goalkeeper Andrey Lunin, who saved his team from defeat with eight saves in the match. But Madrid continued to do nothing, covering the spaces for Barça and betting on its verticality at the top with the fast Diomandé and Kylian Mbappé, until they finally had their reward in the 41st minute when Bernardo Silva filtered a pass towards Diomandé, the Ivorian took a cross into the area looking for a finisher and Gerard Martin failed in the clearance, allowing Kiki to open the can and score his 99th goal with the white jacket and go ahead at half-time, but not before Yamal forgive Cule's tie in the 43rd minute
Already in the second half of the match, Mou, faithful to his style from the first stage in charge of the Chamartín team, sent Bellingham to give a hand to the double pivot to continue covering the Blaugrana spaces, but Flick's team little by little began to settle in with the ball until in the 61st minute, a short corner taken by Alejandro Balde at the feet of Pedri led to the Canary Islands finding the Cule captain in the area and Raphinha, among a sea of legs, surprised Lunin and tied the score. Minutes after the goal The Special One reinforced the right wing with the entry of Denzel Dumfries for the little bird Valverde, although Barca continued to insist in search of the second like Gerard Martin's shot that the Real Madrid goalkeeper took out almost inside the goal in the 65th everything remained the same until in the 80th, Bernardo Silva gave way to the entry of the Frenchman Camavinga, providing muscle to a Madrid that was defending tooth and nail while waiting for a counterattack, he found all that three minutes from the end when Bellingham invented a play out of his hat to give a deep pass to the newly entered six merengue and, in a rude mistake by Pau Cubarsí, passed the ball to Mbappé so that he could define an empty goal with his second goal of the night and the definition of a Classic that turned merengue
With this result, Mourinho achieved his third victory in life visiting the Camp Nou, coincidentally all of them training Real Madrid (2-1 in April 2012 and 3-1 in February 2013 for the Copa del Rey) and extended his unbeaten streak against Barcelona (four wins and two draws). The Portuguese coach is great
