There is always light at the end of the tunnel (ESP/ENG)

Since I was little I have heard that saying and today more than ever I have seen it come true, and I say because my good friend @Sadiel0102's White Sox have managed to reach the postseason again after hitting rock bottom and having been the worst team in the Major League in the last two seasons.

After the debacle that was the 2024 season, where they had no more and no less than 124 losses!, becoming the most losing team in the history of the Major Leagues, the team from the Windy City began to forge its restructuring with the help of a former Big Show player and World Series winner as an assistant on the benches, we are talking about left-hander Will Venable. Venable, who played his nine seasons in MLB at the service of the San Diego Padres, began a great process of restructuring the team that led to several moves that were highly criticized at the time, but that in the end have been to accommodate the future of the organization for later years.

The 2025 season began with a super controversial decision, the departure of Garrett Crochet to Boston in exchange for three prospects who today have emerged as fundamental pillars in the October classification: Chase Meidroth, Kyle Teel, Braden Montgomery, also the arrival of Cuban Miguel Vargas in a triple change gave freshness and a lot of youth to the White Sox lineup. Despite still finishing above one hundred losses that year, there was evidence of increasing improvement, especially in the pitching staff with the arrival of Eric Fedde from the KBO, Sean Burke and Davis Martin among others, in addition to other position players and pitchers from a renovated farm system with another former player, Cincinnati Reds shortstop Paul Janish, who introduced a new technological approach in scouting and player development. Also highlighting in the finals of that season the number three prospect of the organization, the third baseman and shortstop, Colson Montgomery, who since he debuted with the big team on July 4, became known as one of the main rookies in the game.

For this offseason, the team was reinforced even more with less renowned prospects such as Sam Antonacci, Tristán Peters, Luisangel Acuña, Edgar Quero and the most sought-after player in the entire Major League: the Japanese Munetaka Murakami. From the first day, these aforementioned players mixed with pitchers Shane Newcomb, Grant Taylor, Trevor Richards, Seranthony Domínguez and the mid-season additions of the speedy Jordan Hicks and Luis Castillo, in addition to Anthony Kay, who came out of the farm system, the White Sox headed towards the classification with a more than impressive month of May, where they won 18 of the 28 games held that month, and despite having their senior slugger, Murakami, out. For almost two months, they knew how to overcome that difficulty supported by the enormous offense of Miguel Vargas, who combined with Tristán Peters and the aforementioned Murakami led the White Sox with their victory on September 24 against the Kansas City Royals to an expected return to the postseason since 2021

Precisely, the White Sox played their last playoff game against their current rival, the Houston Astros. Some Astros who became champions of a division that was too battered, to the point that all their teams lost more than they won. The Series will take place in Houston starting tomorrow with three games to win two and in my opinion if the White Sox overcome the battered pitching of the Texans and if their pitchers manage to contain José Altuve, Yordan Álvarez and company, the story of improvement could continue to conquer hearts
