Good morning and welcome to my work in progress shot. How do you feel as an artist when you begin a project and you suddenly loose the interest and then vibes in which you had when you started.
This is a freehand charcoal study I started some weeks ago, but somehow I got numb and I lost my inspiration, however, I'm sharing it with you all along side shots from when I began, I hope to find a kick and a spark to begin again.
This view is usually beautiful, this is the sketching stage. I used a graphite powder to layer it as a first layer, the reason, I want to map out the light and shade areas and also I wanted a smooth background suitable for the application of the charcoal. Layering works makes it easier.
And the application of charcoal begins!
The eyes area is very very delicate, I prefer using graphite pencils on the eyes rather than charcoal, but in this case I just had to use charcoal.
Thank you for viewing this far. Have a wonderful day ahead.
