A Bit Bored
I MAY GET A NORMAL JOB
I've been kind of a full-time content creator for a while. I say kind-of because I also have a few non-content related stuff that I do, such as e-commerce, so I'm not exclusively creating content. I do make content for multiple platforms though. So much so that I sometimes forget some of them for weeks 😅
Today as I sat in a café, editing some videos, I suddenly felt a little bored of it all. I considered getting a job - a normal job like everyone else. The type I walked away from nearly a decade ago. Well not that type. Just a standard job - something not so stressful and not necessarily highly paying. I'd love to be a school teacher for instance, but I don't have the qualifications required. There are specific professional qualifications you need to be even a supply teacher.
I decided to take a look at the job centre website, and some other ones that I remember from the olden days, like reed.co.uk, and a few others that Google served up. Most of the jobs I saw were either not within any of my qualifications, range or physical location. I did spot a few ones that I could actually imagine doing. Anything related to teaching people stuff, that's my thing. There was a job that was quit interesting to me involving teaching the elderly about technology. Now that's something I could do very well. I come from a bridge generation between them and this modern world. I understand both worlds - the analogue and digital, very well and I've had a lot of practice showing my dad the ropes over the years. It'd be easy.
Who knows, I may apply for it and see what happens. Having to wake up at the same time every day and travel to a location unfailingly would feel a little weird since it's been nearly 10 years since I've had to do that, but it might breathe a new life into my days. I'd have to cut down quite a lot on content creation. I definitely wouldn't be able to post daily on Hive like I normally do. Or maybe I would. I may cut down on YouTube videos. Well, I'd have to. It takes a long time to edit videos so that would be a once in a week thing at best. I use Hive like a personal journal these days, so I may find myself just writing about my work experience every day. It could become the way I wind down at night after a (potentially) fulfilling day.
I'd also have to find a way to fit my walks in. I wouldn't be able to do 3-hour walks anymore for sure. Maybe on my days off. I'd have to compensate somehow because I've become really fond of my walks now. I mean, I've always loved walking since I was a child. My mum tells tales of me walking off for ages when I was little. I remember roaming the neighbourhood for hours listing to my walkman. I'd usually carry a couple of tapes with me. It also had a radio so sometimes I'd find a radio station to listen to. Not much as changed in that respect. I got bigger and my walkman became an iPhone. That's pretty much it.
Peace & Love,
Adé
