I'm currently watching some online video tutorials about digital painting and improving basic digital art skills. So far everything is going well at a pace faster than I originally expected. It's still a long way to go before I reach my target milestone but I'm happy with some progress made.
The image below is just a doodle painting I did. I just let my mind wander around as I place the colors and render the image. Nothing really planned out from start to finish. It's a way to remove the art block after being frustrated with my potato laptop and crappy line art.
Yes, I'm still struggling at line art and doing the basic tasks. It's the inner dissatisfaction to see a straight line not straight enough. A curve line that's not curve enough. I don't know if you get my drift here but that's just how I am critical about my practice.
My true WIP:
Did I mention I was stressing myself on trying to get better lines? I just noticed I should've have paid attention more on using a hard brush and contrast on the doodle painting above.
The sketch version may look good but the second image is what I'm trying to get better at. I did more sketches before this set but this one was the only one that survived during my daily practice. Drawing anime and trying to learn from 2D to 3D is the path I'm trying to take. I get that it's easier to make content for doing tattoo like artwork but that's not really the growth I want to have. It's more of a stagnation.
If you did read this post, thanks for your time. I've grown accustomed to no one actually reading my posts so I appreciate it if you made it this far reading.
