One of those random shower thoughts where I end up contemplating on the future and content creation.
Since AI slop is the norm most people's feeds, the search for content creators that don't deliver what more than 90% deliver will be harder. You just can't beat AI generative content in terms of shitposting efficiency. However, attention is no longer the game but retention through one's authenticity as a creator.
People would want more content creators that could connect with them in a personal level which is something AI slop can't do.
If everything looks polished, the crappy but authentic pieces of content made by amateurs get more attention because authenticity will sell in the future (arguably also in the present). Generative AI could produce visually appealing pieces but these are not going to get the same respect as collecting an art piece made by traditional arts.
The threat?
Because this is going to be what the future market will be looking for, one can ride the hype and still use AI slop to fabricate a personality ground up. One can become an artist trying to do traditional works transitioning to digital, do a little progress report content here and there, then succeed in building a brand. But the not so plot twist was that almost everything was AI generated slop with an attached actor/actress selling the play.
I'd respect the 4D play made if actually done. That's commitment right there.
That's the modern challenge of curating content at an individual level, it's going to be difficult distinguishing which artists are acting a role with AI slop vs the real ones.
And the use of AI to pose as not an AI slop creator is just outsourcing authenticity.
I should spend less shower time.
Thanks for your time.
