Finally done with my work in progress piece. I think I've reached some new highs on this one. I know there are plenty of stuff that needs to be polished here and there. I can see that well, I just don't have enough skills to fix that yet.
This blog was made to document progress. You can track my previous results here if you see how far I've progressed throughout the weeks. I don't get as much spare time as I used to back then. I'm preoccupied with work but art has always been something I'm passionate to learn about. Not going to play the role of good content creator here, my content isn't at commercial level yet.
I'm posting my works first on Hive blockchain and then cross post it on other platforms. Just doing my part to spread word about this blockchain.
I'm just fine with the results I've got so far, I think I reached some milestones a few weeks earlier from the original self learning plans. Building a social media presence on other platforms is on the list but lately finding the time to even practice is already a challenge.
Having spent some countless hours watching tutorials and actually trying to apply what I learned, there were some stuff I got to realized as I keep on painting. Quantity matters more than quality when you're training. Focusing on quality slows your progress down because your taste in art is too high for your current skill cap as a beginner. Instead of painting forward, you're stuck with obsessing over minor mistakes that hardly matter.
It took a while before the lesson sunk in really. I remember spending several hours on a single piece only to delete it because it just wasn't good enough. It didn't occur to me that it's the consistent attempt to create that's more important as not every piece made is a masterpiece. It's been proven statistically that the number of works previously accomplished raises the chance of success for discovery as what I learned from the previous masters.
I'll try to find more time for practice while doing some balancing act on work.
I prioritized style and a loose way of representing objects for this piece. My series of abstract and value painting practices became the foundation to render this piece.
It still needs more improvements but I know I'm getting there after seeing this result. Just hope my own habit of self sabotage doesn't come often.
