Recently I thought I had an original idea in making oatmeal that is savory, not sweet. I did a little searching only to find out that yep, people do make different recipes with oatmeal that are savory.
Tonight I decided to try a combination I’d seen with scrambled eggs and oatmeal. The main thing I was looking for when I decided to try this was how much oatmeal to use in how many eggs. Basically you can make the eggs any way you like to eat them. You can make an omelette if you choose too.
I had some sharp cheddar that I mixed in and I like hot sauce on my eggs. You could add sausage, olives, veggies, whatever you like to put in or on your eggs.
What I used:
2 large eggs
1/2 cup rolled oats
Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Sharp cheddar cheese
Hot sauce
How was it?
This is definitely something I will do again, and will find other ways to make savory oatmeal.
