Today’s sight we will discuss the Shika mountains in Shangri la.
The Shika Snow Mountain’s are regarded as holy to the local Tibetans, the landscapes vary according to the seasons. We were lucky to visit the mountain at the start of spring as we could still see snow capped peaks.
The journey is easily accessible and tickets cost around RMB200 per person including a round trip cable car ride.

Altitude sickness can be expected at the summit as you will go up to 4500 Meters, I myself could feel it and had a canister at hand where as my partner did not, but staying on the safe side we recommend having one at all times.
The canisters were sold at around RMB68 at the bottom of the cable car however you could purchase cheaper ones in town. Depending on the season it is highly advised to take a winter jacket or renting one in town as the temperatures drop very quickly and ice winds are expected.

Once at the top the views will not disappoint as a they are truly breathtaking sights, we spent well over 3 hours walking around the platform at the summit and taking in the beauty.
