We are part of a larger German SPL gaming community, the Legendary Dragons, with 14 guilds brawling in various tiers. Our leading guilds, the Legendary Dragons and the Legendary Wyverns play in tier 4 and rank in the top 20. The Legendary Dragon Babies are currently playing in tier 2 and are ranked #154. We had a top brawl and finished in first place by a big margin of 43 points! We were leading the pre-brawl guild ranking ahead of Fallen Angels #201 and NFT Warriors #214 so the result was on par. After a few tough brawls in tier 3, this brawl was easy going and the rewards were great: almost 4000 merits and 32 SPS. Our team of legendary brawlers walked off the field ranked #154. All brawlers performed well and we were able to fill all frays!
With a total of 77 battles going in our favour, we were able to tally a magnificent score of 77 to 24, giving us a superior 76% winrate. This is our best result in 2023 so far! Well done Dragon Babies! The team is looking forward to returning to tier 3 after the summer holidays and our goal for the end of the year is to crack the top 100!

My performance in this brawl was great, too. I only had 4 battles but it was a clean sweep. I am settling in nicely on the GF bronze fray. With the great amount of merits rewards and the added merits from EOS, I was able to open 3 gladiator packs:
The exploits from the gladiator packs were not amazing but I pulled another BCX of my favourite gladiator Trapp Falloway. There are several reasons, why this little dude is my number 1 gladiator and has become my mascot on the Hive blockchain. First of all, check out his stats:
At the basic level, Trapp comes with Bloddlust, Weaken (-1 health), 4 mellee, 4 speed and 4 health. Paired wit Thaddius Brood, the team takes 2 health from the opposing team, which can make all the difference in low mana games. Speaking of low mana games, Trapp is great for Little League matches but not the easiest to place. His good speed gives him a chance to act as a tank but I haven't had much success with playing him in first position. He is best when there are rulesets, like Supersneak or Melee Mayhem.
At level 3, Trapp Falloway has 5 meelee and 5 health but I am waiting for him to level up to level 4 (I have a long way to go...), where he gets the Halving ability. At level 5, he has 6 meelee, which probably makes him the most ferocious 4 mana gladiator in any arena. For these reasons and the fact, that the death deck is my strongest deck, I was happy to score another BCX!
In the BATTLE-OF-THE-DAY segment, we have an action-packed fire fight with Tis But Scratches, Even Stevens and What Doesn't Kill You. The mana cap is 57. The available splinters are red and gold.
I don't really have good GF dragon cards and I didn't rent Quix, so red it was, summoned by Tarsa. I had a good selection of red GF monsters and I chose a fat tank in first position: Charlok Minotaur. My gladiator of choice was Chimney Wallstop with Reach in second position. I placed Ferox Defender with Protect in third position, which wasn't the smartest move in a What Doesn't Kill You ruleset, but I wanted maximum protection for my backline. The second half of the team was made up of a solid archer trio with Tinderlock's Last Stand in last position as last resort if things got sticky. Here is the battle:
ROUND 1
The round started evenly and Scavo Firebolt opened the batting. the enemy front-line tank got wiped out swiftly and Chimney Wallstop then inflicted heavy 6 damage to Molten Ash Golem, which didn't make him look much better when enraged.
ROUND 2
Then an enraged Charlok Minotaur had 8 meelee and higher speed to take out Molten Ash Golem, followed by another big hit by Chimney Wallstop but no Bloodlust.
ROUND 3
Scavo Firebolt opened round 3 to toast Dumacke Orc, followed by Charlok Minotaur wasting the enemy Scavo Chemist. The enemy Scavo Firebolt then had to got, leaving just Tusk The Wide to deal with. Charlok Minotaur then departed after doing a great job defending the frontline.
ROUND 4
...not much more to say here...yawn
Brawler of the Day
Charlok Minotaur is not the most popular card and doesn't appear in many battles. He got my attention recently, when I noticed how much his price has come down. His current price for RF is 5.5c per BCX, which I found well worth going for level 6 where he gets Retaliate.
The Retaliate ability makes up for his slowness and True Strike with 4 meelee is a force to be reckoned with. With Tarsa he has 5 meelee and here we have a powerful tank that has largely been forgotten by the Splinterlands world.
