Focused as I was, trying to park the car on the steep descent, I wasn't paying any attention to the view. There are only a few parking spots above the lake and if I didn't manage to fit the car there, we would have to drive around the town and try again. When I finally set the handbrake and turned the engine off, I had a glance over the still water of the lake and I was staggered!
We were living in this area for nine years and I had never, not once, seen Agios Nikolaos in such a dramatic, such a mesmerising light and now that we came for a single visit, here it was!
I rushed to the back of the car talking to myself.
Where is my camera, where is my camera???
The laughter of @traisto got me a chill down my spine and her response confirmed my arousing fear.
At home :)
A split of a second before I was driven to despair a second laughter, a different one this time, made me turn around, only to see that she was holding her own camera, offering it to me :)
The Canon EOS 850D is not the best camera in the world, far from it but at this moment, with my camera bag 40 km away and the majestic light rapidly fading, it was a blessing!
As we were descending the stairs to the pier, @traisto couldn't stop laughing but I was so happy to hold a camera that I couldn't get mad at her :)
This was the tenth part of our trip from Nafplio to Crete, in order to harvest our olives and visit the places and the people that formed our daily life for almost a decade. It lasted from the first of November till the fifth of December and it was totally different from whatever we anticipated.
